Cyberway: Are you saying they should become more like Blizzard? I hope they go for EA and Ubisoft and become publisher.
I am sorry, I am having trouble understanding what you mean. Who and what are you talking about?

You said " have no idea what you mean by "non-own-game". If you mean what I think you mean, I see absolutely no reason for CDPR to publish a game when they have GOG. "

What you dont understand what you think you know what I mean????

GoG has nothing to do with publishing. For example. Valve with Steam doresnt publish they just sell games .CDPR has more influence than Larian. I think CDPR should help Larian. Its win win for both. CDPR gets PR as players sees they go for publishing and Larian gets press.

About understanding, you should try using subjects in your sentences. Your sentences may sounds meaningful to you, but with so many different possibilities, one can only assume what and who you meant.

About publishing, are you talking about a merge? What would Larian get from having their games published by CDPR? CDPR is not a publisher, they have only published 1 franchise in their entire existence. Larian's history and roots in gaming is far larger than CDPR. Besides, they do not need anyone's help at the moment. So it is definitely not a win-win scenario.

Damn this is turning long discussion.

Larian was founded only two year later than CDPR and CDPR is no doubt breaking billion sales soon after Cyberpunk, whereas Larian is still poor. Thats what you get when you make EAs. Try to be friends with your fans.

Wrong. CDPR was "formed" in 2002. Before that, they were a simple retailer company called CD Projekt S.A. They later formed GOG in 2008 and released Wither 2 in 2011. Before that, they were nobody. And to this day, Witcher 3 is the only game that actually made a success. So, in essence, they are a very simple company with a single franchise. We don't know what will happen after Cyberpunk 2077, but those can only be assumptions. The fact is, currently, as I stated.

And Larian is not poor. What makes you say that? Where do you keep getting this false information? And how does EAs make a company poor where they sold millions of copies worldwide and generated over 100 million dollars of revenue. They made 85million with OS2 only in 2017.

It is always a good practice to check your facts before claiming them.

Ok, I let you win.

Larian promises bigger better game, improved engine and 100 hour of content. Thats more than enough to build hype and get 60 bucks from players. Also Larian has lots of fans. They got experience from DOS and DOS2. Even F2P is more professional option than EA. EA was made for those who got nothing. no fans, no money, no marketting, no publishing, no experience, absolutely nothing.

EA gets them an army of playtesters they don't have to pay, using a great variety of hardware that they don't have to buy.

Does F2P mean Free To Play? Like some MMO games? If so, I don't see what that has to do with this. If not, let me know.

-edit- corrected spelling.

Yet you find an army of playtesters important? Their staff is at 250, one could imagine they wont need those anymore.

Larian can honestly do whatever they want.

EA and F2P are 2 totally different concepts. Former states a state of a game that's not finished while the latter declares the game as FREE with possible in-game purchases. There is no turning back from a F2P game.

The staff has nothing to do with this. AAA companies like Electronic Arts, Sony, Ubisoft, Bethesda, and even Microsoft have over 1000 employees yet recently most of their products are unfinished buggy, un-optimized. They do the same actually, just use the pre-ordering people as beta testers for their unfinished/unpolished products. At least, companies like Larian are honest about it. Hell, some of Sony's games got their final polish 10 years later after their initial release (like one certain Total War game).

Finally, this is not about winning an argument, for a philosopher never loses an argument. If they are proven wrong, they learn something new. If they are proven right, they managed to share and expand their knowledge. Because (contrary to sophists, look up for the word sophistry), their intention is to find the truth, if there is one. Philosophers of the old age became inventors and scientists today while sophists became lawyers and politicians.

What kind of person do you want to be?
