I have the GOG.com versions of all five of the IE games and am attempting to mod them all to my liking, but I keep doubting whether I am installing stuff in the right order. Regarding the two Baldur's Gate games here is what I have achieved so far :

1. installed BG2 to C:\Games\BG2.
2. Installed BG1 to C\:Program Files (*86) etc.etc.
3. Installed Easy Tutu to C:\Games\BGTutu. Works fine.
4. Installed the "degreenifier" to C:\Games\BGTutu. Works fine. I have turned Hardware Acceleration ON to get rid of the flickering cursor.
5. Installed BG1 Unfinished Business (BG1UB_v13) to the above directory. Components all show up in the WeiDU log, so apparently this has installed successfully, though I'm only just out of Candlekeep at this stage.
6. Installed the widescreen mod (widescreen-v3.05) to C:\Games\BGTutu. Works very well and looks great at 1280*720 (my monitor is 16:9) , even if the text is a bit hard to read.
7. Installed the BG2 fixpack (bg2fixpack-v9) to C:\Games\BG2. Components show up in the WeiDU log, so apparently this has installed correctly.
8. Installed BG2 Unfinished Business-v19 to C:\Games\BG2. Components show up in the WeiDU log, so apparently fine.
9. Installed the widescreen mod (widescreen-v3.05) to C:\Games\BG2. Works absolutely fine, text a bit hard to read though.
10. Installed BG2 Tweak Pack to C:\Games\BG2. Components show up in the WeiDU log, so apparently this has installed successfully.

The above is the exact order in which I did everything and so far so good. I have the following questions though :

10. As I was choosing which components to install from the BG2 Tweak Pack, I noticed that many of the components were either also or only available for BGT and/or Tutu. I didn't realise that this mod could be used with Tutu as it is called the BG2 Tweak Pack, though I understand that Tutu uses the BG2 engine to run BG1. If I want these tweaks to be applied to my Tutu game am I going to have to install Tutu from scratch and go through all the steps again, or can I extract the files to C:\Games\BGTutu and not mess up what I've done so far ?

11. Also, if I apply the BG2 Tweak Pack to BG2 BEFORE I install Tutu (I'm using EasyTutu), will my Tutu game already include the tweaks or do I still have to install the BG2 Tweak Pack to C:\Games\BGTutu, even though I have already modified my BG2 game to include these tweaks ?

Sorry if these are stupid questions but learning has to start somewhere !

Two final questions regarding a couple of other mods I have my eye on : TutuGUIv18. This, I understand, is a mod which changes the GUI in Tutu back to the "stone effect" GUI of BG1. The other mod is the FontMod-v2.1. This one increases the font size when playing in a higher resolution :

12. If I want to use the TutuGUIv18 mod will I have to install Tutu again from scratch, seeing as I have already applied the widescreen mod ? I'm expecting the answer "Yes".

13. When do I apply the FontMod-v2.1 and which games does it work with ?

Sorry for the long-winded post.

10. You don't have to reinstall anything. If you choose to install some BG2Tweaks components on Tutu, just do it the same way you installed it for BG 2.

11. I'm not sure exactly what would happen if you tried to install Tutu with a modded BG 2, but chances are it wouldn't be good and would cause problems. You need to install Tutu off clean BG 2 and BG installs, it's the best way to ensure a bug-free experience.
After the installation, you can install any mods you like on Tutu itself.

12. No, you don't need to reinstall. The GUI mod should be among the first mod you install though, right after the BG2 Fixpack IIRV, but if you've already installed other mods you can just uninstall those by running their installer again and choosing the uninstall option.

13. I'm not familiar with that mod. If it modifies fonts, it should probably be installed right after the GUI though.
Thanks mystral. Regarding your answers :

10. This is what I thought, though I wasn't sure.

11. Luckily I did not mod BG2 before I installed Tutu so my Tutu install should be fine then. I wondered whether if you had already modded BG2 before installing Tutu, Tutu would run in the modified engine or the unmodifed one ?

12. I'm a bit confused regarding this one. I've installed the BG2 Fixpack to C:\Games\BG2 but not to C:\Games\BGTutu. The TutuGUIv18 mod is meant to be applied to Tutu (and not BG2) isn't it ? Also, I've tried uninstalling the widescreen mod by running it again and selecting the uninstall option (U), but I get an error and end up having to delete the directory and start again, which is no big deal but I wonder why this is happening ?

13. I don't know much about this mod either but I've just installed an absolutely awesome GUI mod for Planescape : Torment and I think the text in BG2 and Tutu is pretty small at higher resolutions.

Cheers for your quick reply.
If I were you Theoclymrenus, I would start again from scratch.
The fact that you get an error message telling you that you can't uninstal the widescreen mod means that your TuTu install is already borked.
If you continue to play, you will just be transfering problems down the track till the point where you can't continue.
This could be that you tried to uninstall it by running widescreen-v3%2e05.exe again, instead of setup-widescreen.exe.
It might be an overzealous antivirus program (although I would have expected that to have effected it the first time.)
It might be you need to run widescreen-v3%2e05.exe as administator to install it originally & setup-widescreen.exe as administrator when uninstalling & reinstalling.

I wouldn't install any mods to BG2 until you have TuTu running as you want it.
Or even until you have finished playing BG1, when you will have a better idea of which mods or options to choose for BG2.

#9 & 10 Install the widescreen mod last.
run setup-bg2_tweaks.exe & uninstall the tweaks, then run setup-widescreen.exe (right click & choose "run as Administrator") & see if you can uninstall the widescreen mod without error. Then run setup-widescreen.exe again & reinstall it. If you have no problems, then I would run all you mods setup files as administrator (including the exe mods that run the setup themselves.)

# 10 (the 2nd one) All the mods you use with TuTu are BG2 mods. Some are written for the BG1 part of the game for use with TuTu or BGT, & some aren't, but they are all BG2 mods.
Normally as Mystral has said you could just uninstall the widescreen mod from TuTu, install bg2tweaks & reinstall the widescreen mod. But your TuTu install is already buggered, don't continue with it.

#11 The only mod you can install to BG2 before TuTu & have it work without problems is bg2fixpack.
( and probably ddrawfix by Aqrit which GOG now install by default to BG2 ) Although I uninstall that before running TuTu & then install it in TuTu later.

Just make sure you install TutuGUIv18 mod before the widescreen mod.
It was intended for TuTu or BGT, but if you prefer the look to the standard BG2, then you can use it in BG2.

I'm not familiar with the font mod (can you post a link?) But it will work the same for TuTu or BG2.
But if you liked the Ghostdogs Planescape Torment bigger fonts, then maybe try this. http://www.shsforums.net/topic/52452-bigger-fonts-mod-for-baldurs-gate-2/
Install it after the widescreen mod. (but not your current install)
I tried it on my current TuTu game, it should be what you want, but the fonts are a little large on a 27" monitor @ 1280x720.

Olnorton : http://www.shsforums.net/topic/38626-bigger-fonts-for-bgiitob-and-other-ie-games/. If the link doesn't work it's the FontMod_v2.1 which rartino mentions in his Newbie guide (STICKY), BG2 section, point 3. The screenshot shows what the font looks like. It looks exactly like the font in the Planescape : Torment mod actually, so perhaps it was written by the same person ? Just by looking at the link it seems to be designed to work with all the IE games.

I have reinstalled Tutu since I had trouble uninstalling the widescreen mod, though I haven't tried uninstalling the widescreen mod again. I always run the set-up (from within the game folder) rather than the .exe. I will probably start from scratch in any case because I would like to install the GUI mod and the FontMod but everything seems to be working fine at this point.

I modded Tutu before I began modding BG2, so there shouldn't be any problem ? Do I need to install the bg2 fixpack to Tutu as well ? If so, at what point ? Struth, this modding lark is confusing !
The Fixpack should always go first in your install order. And yes, you do need to install it for Tutu since it uses the BG 2 engine, which is fixed by the BG 2 Fixpack.

Ok, FontMod_v2.1 was written by Corvias. They look the same as Ghostdogs Bigger Fonts for BG2 (The one I linked to) because they both use Haen's font bam generator. Ghostdog did the GUI & Font mod for Planescape Torment.
Ghostdogs mod keeps the text to the bottom like the original.

If you can uninstall the Widescreen mod you won't have to. Run setup-widescreen.exe as administrator.
Then uninstall Unfinished Business.

You will need to redo the installation order of your BG2 game as well. Use your WeiDu.log to uninstall everything in the reverse order to which they were installed.

Mods that edit the bgmain.exe get installed first. (with the exception of the widescreen mod)
These are mods like TobEx (this would be first, if you use it.)
bg2fixpack (this would be first if you don't use TobEx & 2nd if you do)
The 1pp avatar mods

So your list for TuTu would be
bg2fixpack
Unfinished Business
bg2tweaks
TuTuGUI
WidescreenMod
BG2 Bigger Fonts

Once you do this, start a new game.
