I just saw Time Bandits for the first time. That's a bit of a travesty, but please try to overlook it. ;^)

In any case, in the last battle when Evil is just destroying everything and everyone with incredible ease, it's hard not to think that perhaps Irenicus' near-invincible ability in Athkatla and in Spellhold wasn't inspired partly by Warner's similar performance in Time Bandits.

Personally, I think you are projecting David Warner, being the only common factor that I see.
