I'm having a problem in BG2 with the priest scrolls and spell book moving back to and getting stuck on the first page (level one spells). When I switch party members I have a short time, ~10 seconds maybe, that I can change pages but then it scrolls back to the first page.

I'm on Windows 8 x64. I'm currently using bg2fixpack_v10 and the widescreen mod. I have tried v9 of the fixpack and had the problem as well.

If I'm quick I can change higher level spells, but it is fairly annoying.

It was worth a try, but it did not fix the problem. I have found I don't actually have to switch party members, switching to the other book (priest/mage) from where I was does the trick. It is definitely an annoying problem.

I don't know Win 8 at all, but here's a few token ideas. Does your game have admin rights? Are there things like UAC that can interfere with it? Is the game installed in Program Files?

The game is not in the program files directory. I'll give running with admin rights or compatibility mode a try next time I get a chance to play.

Edit: Admin rights was already enabled. I tried compatibility mode with no luck. I did find a four year old post elsewhere describing the same problem, but no solutions for it. This makes me think it is not something specific to Windows 8.

After trying everything I could think of (along with the above recommendations) I decided to swap the batteries in my keyboard (which was not having any problems) and that cleared the problem up. Thanks for the help.
