Anyone had any luck with something like this?

The installation via PON worked fine: I was able to access BG2 from the PON games menu and install with the digital distribution option.

After clicking the icon in the PON menu to run game, the initial bg2 menu pops up. After running configure it changes the screen resolution and just seems to hang. In windowed mode a similar thing happens: a new window is created with an identical copy of the desktop and then proceeds to hang.

When exiting the window by closing down the wine icon, the 'do you really want to quit, boo will miss you etc' window pops up.

The netbook I'm currently using is an HP mini 110-1197TU

Anyone have any ideas?
What version of wine do you have installed? One thing you could try, which worked well for me is to open up your BGConfig.exe and set 3d acceleration to 'on' and make sure opengl is selected. With those settings the game works flawlessly in wine thus far for me.

That worked! Thanks a lot for your reply. I know what I'll be doing on during my 12 hour flight on Friday :D
Glad it worked for you. Enjoy playing one of the greatest RPGs ever made! :-)
