OK, I downloaded BG1 and got it working yesterday - it played fine. I try to play it today and it won't do anything past the initial splash screen. Every time I click "Play" nothing happens. Nor does anything happen when I go to where the game installed and try to run BGMain.exe so I can't get around it that way.

The other two games I have on here - BG2 and Planescape Torment - both run fine; it's just this one. Any ideas?

System Info: Toshiba netbook with 2GB RAMand plenty of space and processor speed.
BG1 Mods installed: Widescreen and GUI, Baldurdash and Unfinished Business.

EDIT: The splash screen? You shouldn't be using it - it usually doesn't work - run the BGMain.exe file under administrator mode and if that doesn't work, try below.

I know you will want to play with mods installed, but I would suggest that you try it without mods.

I am also aware that the widescreen mod tends to cause many weird glitches and the like so you should see if it works without that installed.

The fact that you can run other infinity engine games means that perhaps the engine in which Baldur's gate 1 is running on isn't working as it is old and unsupported.

If you don't mind about not playing the "vanilla" game then I suggest using EasyTutu, it is good.

Other than that I can't really help you, sorry.

What operating system (Windows, Linux, etc.) are you using? If you're using any Windows newer than XP and installing to any directory named "Program Files", uninstall and reinstall somewhere else. Microsoft's protections in "Program Files" directories has killed many a modded BG and IWD game...
