Hello everyone

I just tried installing BG1 with wineskin on my MBP and everything went smoothly up until i entered the game

When the game starts my mouse icon flickers and leaves "prints" of it self all over the screen, I have seen similar things on windows where i had to disable 3D acceleration, but since i cannot access that on my mac I am out of ideas, anyone had this problem or?

Then i tried BG2 and after some graphic tweaking in the config to allow 3D acceleration in BG2 it worked like a charm.

So bottom line: How can i make BG1 work on a mac or maybe even better how can I use BGT or BGtutu so I get the engine from BG2 into BG1 which i would really like to get, no matter what?

I've been playing BG1 and BG2 in Ubuntu using Wine. I found to fix all the graphics problem I had to use older version of Wine. 1.2 works great for both BG1 and BG2 aside from some delay sound problems in BG1. With 1.3 versions of Wine and the latest the graphics are all screwed up or it's extremely slow.

I'm not sure how Wineskin works, I don't have a Mac anymore. But if possible try a version built with an older version of Wine.

If I remember correctly, I believe I had BG1 working just fine with the CX Games 10.1 engine in Wineskin.

Of course, I was hoping to get a BGT setup going, but I have not had success with that. The problem is that the BGT installer is hardwired to the Windows version of Weidu. The Windows version of Weidu assumes a Windows file system (backslashes instead of forward-slashes and indifference to letter-casing). Some fairly involved hackery can apparently be used to get BGT to install, but I am way too lazy for all of that. It's easier to just bootcamp into Windows.
So i got the BGT thing to work. Now i just have a new issue.

The game is very laggy and the sound is all messed up.

I have a theory that it might have something to do with the sounds (at least i hope it does since i can't change graphic settings on a mac). Have anyone had this issue on their mac's with a Wineskin port?

Wow! How did you even get that far? If you get it all figured out, please do post instructions!

Here's my post on how I finally got it all to work. I'm not having the same issues you are. Everything seems to be working fine for me. Here's hoping you can get it sorted out!
