You don't have to read those books before playing the game, as the game does a good job of describing events, if you take the time to read the literature available in the game as you play.

Landeril: Yeah. those come before the games. Its a Cycle known in Faerun(Forgotten Realms) as the Time of Troubles when the Gods walked the earth.

Other then those, No, I don't think there is anymore.
Cool, I remember hearing about that time as I read later Forgotten Realm novels. It'll be interesting to see how things played out.
