Hey, I'm playing through BG Tutu and I've realized I'm pretty lonely. The NPC's never interject or talk except for the basic click and move stuff. My question is whether that is normal or something was corrupted with the BG Tutu install. I saw some banter packs online and if there isn't a problem would like some feedback on whether or not they are good.

The game just seems so empty without anyone talking. One of the things I love about BG2 is all the banter.

No need to be lonely, the BG1NPC mod will add banters & the opportunity to romance Branwen, Dynaheir (if your wise enough) or Shar-teel if your Evil.

I f you're evil, take Xzar and Montaron for entertainment value.
Personally I couldn't care less for the romances. If you want dating sims I hear the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games are good.

Don't knock it before you try it. Think of them less as romances & more adding depth to lifeless characters.
All you get in vanilla BG1 similar to banter is that some NPCs would say a sentence, and another one would replay in suit. No real conversations, just some throwaway comments similar to the one you get regarding your reputation.
Ya I'm not even getting those one liners. Just the comments about reputation. I thought that when I completed some quests at least someone would say something. The only time NPC's say things when I don't click them is when they remind me to work on their quest lol.

And as far as the mod goes, it is good with Tutu? Do have I have to start my game over again or can I install it in the middle of a play-through?

Yes it was made for Tutu & BGT.
For the romance, you would have to start a new game.
Your eligibility for each romance is determined by your stats, race & alignment & the global variables are added at the start of the game.
The banters might be right to add to an existing game.

Branwen Romance requires:
Strength & Constitution 11 or higher
any non-evil alignment.
Human, elf, half elf, or half orc
reputation 10 or higher for romance to begin & continue.

Dynaheir Romance requires:
Wisdom & intelligence 10 or higher
good, lawful neutral, or true neutral
Human, elf, half elf, or half orc
reputation 11 or higher for romance to begin & continue.

Shar-Teel Romance requires:
Charisma & Strength 11 or above
Any Evil, Chaotic Neutral, True Neutral.
Anyone but halflings
Reputation has to be below 10 for romance to begin & continue.

Nope, they won't say anything after any quests. There is no dialog box, just a short speech and a white outline around the portrait. You could have easily mistaken them for remarks about reputation.
The NPC Party Banter mod is great. I used it last time I played (with BGTuTu). My only complaint was that I found they made Imoen a bit more annoying than I had envisioned her.
