I bought the Enhanced Edition and I won't look back. I can't justify a game being good if you have to mod the hell of out it in the correct order or it fucks up my game. Obviously I've only played vanilla and never used Shadowkeeper. While I enjoyed the BG series immensely and I've beaten it twice, this to me is the future of the BG series. I'll gladly pay 4x the GoG amount to play a game that has everything I want in one install.

And because I *have* to beat a dead horse further, once the game is installed and played once, the DRM is no longer there. The only difference between it and GOG is that you keep your internet on for a minute longer.

Do you need an active internet connection to install it?
Because it isn't 1 extra minute, its 1 extra minute every time you reinstall it and an active server on the web that WILL eventually be shut down when it is no longer profitable (rendering the game uninstallable at that point)

Once it's downloaded and installed, it's fully portable. So you don't get the nice anytime, anywhere installers of GOG, but you can backup your installed BGEE folder to a DVD/HDD and have it forever.
