I get this message after mere minutes in-game "An assertion failed in ChVidImage3d.cpp at line number 1957"

This is with a clean install of Baldur's Gate II SoA+ToB and GOG's Baldur's Gate with the EasyTutu mod. I've no idea why this is happening and really would love to play BG1 with tutu.

I run Win 7 x64.

You could try reinstalling :

or excluding the game folder from your anti virus utility :

Thanks so much! Exluding the game folder from NOD32 anti-virus did the trick.
When using easy tutu, the game will crash in beregost if you save there when chapter 1 (the mine) is done. There has been no remedy to this bug and the only way around it is to save a few locations before there. Get what you need and get out. If it crashes anywhere else then what was mentioned before should. This is the only bug i have come across with vista 64 bit.

Not true. Ascension 64 developed a beregost crash fixer for tutu and BGT. The latest version of BGT doesn't have this glitch anymore. (or it might have been the fixpack that did it)
I have had (beregostcrashfixer) for tutu and it does no good. If you have tutu, regardless of what you installed-make the minimum amount of saves in the town. As for baldurs gate trilogy, I have no idea because i have never used it. Are we talking about tutu or trilogy?

It does not cure whatever is causing the problem, only fixes a glitched game. Did you use it on a glitched save or did you just try to install it?
No no. I should have been more specific. I've played the game numerous times and there was always times when beregost would cause glitching. I installed the file and it fixed the save game. But sometimes it wouldnt work. So, since a year ago, i dont have any more problems. I just have extra saves i make so nothing happens. What i was trying to say was that you should save a lot until you are out of that area. Once you are out on the open, its all good.

I dont know what caused this, but i guess it doesnt matter. As for mods, the only one i use is rogue rebalancing from spellhold studios. Best mod for the series in my opinion.

Totally agree with you there. It makes the assassins feel more like actual assassins...
not just thiefs that know how to use poison.
Speaking of that, someone should post that on a thread here. Bounty hunters, assassins, jesters and blades all get actually playable. And the revised thievery makes so much sense too. I'll post that when i get the chance.

Blades were actuallly already playable, and were a good choice for solo's. That said, we should start a mod thread on this forum, like fallout has.

thanks from me too, I had the same issue (NOD32 antivirus)

Shame too, first time it crashed was in char creation... with a char that had 17 in all stats.
