Thanks for your help olnorton as well as in my other thread :) and thanks for the warning anamorphic I may just avoid using the tweak you pointed out because I have no idea how to edit saves
Will BG1 easyTuTu saves export into BGT?
I haven't played either game before and want the best vanilla experience.

I wish all of these steps were wrapped into one easy exe. =D

If you mean will they export to BG2, then yes.
You could export them to BGT, but there would be no point.
You use either TuTu or BGT, both are ways to play BG1 with the BG2 engine.
So one of the things I really hate having to do is clear a dungeon, get all the way through it, and then have to walk all the way back. I know that through the cheat codes you can use Ctrl + J to teleport in a vanilla install, but can you do it with the modded version? If so, which .ini folder do I modify: BG1, BG2, or both? Or, alternately, is there a mod which I could install which would allow ONLY this function? I want to run a MP game with my friends and don't want them getting any ideas with the cheats.

GOG versions of the game on all, btw.

If your using TuTu, then you would modify the .ini in your TuTu main directory.
If your using BGT, then you would modify the ini in your BGT main directoy.

Debug Mode=1 goes under [Program Options]

I doubt anyone would have made a mod for a function already available in the console.

Sweet, that's what I figured. I just didn't want to do it, and in the process screw up the whole install somehow.
I don't get something. I'm in BG1, before i have to return to BG and face Sarevok (lvl 8). I see on the map way below a place called "Watcher's keep", and it's accessible. From what i read in google, it's only suppose to be in BG2 - TOB, no?
I would classify ToBEx as must have essential mods (along with widescreen mod and G3 fixpack). It fixes so many critical bugs in the game I would never play without it (also comes along with SCSII).
i'm having troble importing my BG1 save to BG2 both games are the GOG version

Copy your saved game from your BG1 saved game folder to your BG2 saved game folder.
Hey all, I have been trying to install this and keep running into the same problem. Everything seems to install correctly, but when I go to give my created character a name, it acts like all the a bunch of keyboard keys are stuck and just enters gibberish. I can't delete it, it just keeps typing a random character. So I shrugged my shoulders and just started the game anyway. But once I get control of my PC, it just stays stuck in a random menu, presumably whatever menu is the shortcut key for the key that appears to be "stuck". Anyone else run into this?
Try just rebooting your computer.
Well don't I feel silly...

Thanks!
Hello, decided to start playing this wonderfull game again.

I found this topic because i want the mods but i think the whole thing from the opening post wont work with just Baldurs Gate and expansion.

So i mean to say, i dont have Baldurs Gate: The Original Saga, but just Baldurs Gate and its expansion.
Is there anyway i can get the same setup as explained in the opening post but without The Original Saga? And could anyone explain me how, please?

I cant find The Original Saga anywhere to buy in store, i cant buy over the internet because of payment problems.

Thanks in advance.

So you have Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn & Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal on disk & you want to mod it?

Install Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. NOT in the default directory C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Black Isle\BG2-SoA\
C:\Games\BG2 is as good as any.
Then install Shadows of Amn patch version 23037
http://web.archive.org/liveweb/http://web.archive.org/web/20051212101305/http://www.bioware.com/games/shadows_amn/support/patches/

Then install Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal.
Then install BG2 Throne of Bhaal patch version 26498 (DO NOT USE 26499)

http://web.archive.org/web/20051210033915/http://www.bioware.com/games/throne_bhaal/support/patches/

Then run the game & make sure it runs properly before you mod it.
In BGConfig, turn the 3 hardware sliders up to full.

Then install the Fixpack (unless you want TobEx, in which case that goes first)
http://www.gibberlings3.net/bg2fixpack/

Install BG2Tweaks
http://www.gibberlings3.net/bg2tweaks/

Install Widescreen Mod LAST (unless you want a GUI mod that needs the widescreen mod installed before it.)
http://www.gibberlings3.net/widescreen/

The above 3 mods can be run from where ever you download them to, & just tell them to install to C:\Games\BG2 (or where ever you installed the game)
Some other mods will need to be extracted to your game directory & their setup files run from there.
When you have picked which mods you want, if your unsure of how or where (install order) to install them, then post again.
