The actual full title is "Atom RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game"? That's so weird. That's like if Fallout 4 was actually titled "Fallout 4 FPS/RPG Hybrid: Post-apocalyptic AAA game"

Love the game, though.
The original Fallout's complete name was Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game

I don't think that's silly. The silly part of this game's full title isn't that iit's long, but that it contains "indie game". This may be the first time I've seen a game with "indie" in the title. Also RPG already contains the word "game", so it's redundant.

Yeah I figured the "post apocalyptic RPG" part was a play on Fallout's full title - but the "Indie" part is weird. I thought they'd actually dropped the "indie" part (or were going to) prior to release...
It's definitely a Google algorithm friendly title.
The strength stat is described as having an effect on 'subterfuge'. What is that? Stealth?
Sorry! Put in wrong place.

OK, I guess I sort of see that now. I didn't realize that's why samuraigaiden posted the full Fallout title. Maybe it seemed amusing at the time it was coined, and nobody could think of anything better to replace it. Maybe years down the road, when the devs have been bought by some huge conglomerate, they can look back and be reminded of their "indie" roots just by looking at the title. I still think it's somewaht awkward and weird; maybe something lost in translation.
Strength is described as having an effect on subterfuge. anyone know what that is?
something wrong here. MY new post keeps getting put here.

I think it's one of the oldest (potentially translation-related) bugs that still hasn't been fixed for some reason. Strength doesn't affect stealth or pickpocket as far as I know (which is what I originally thought this meant). Strength only affects carry weight, power of melee weapons (possibly also unarmed?), and affects a number of skills (AFAIK melee and unarmed).
I think it's a janky title (the game is full of jank, which I find charming) but if you're familiar with Fallout's full name and ATOM's full name, it makes a sort of sense, but this isn't readily apparent if you're familiar with Fallout as just "Fallout"

Hi! That's the full title that we only use in stores like GOG or Steam and sometimes while working with the press. For all other intents and purposes, we're just Atom RPG. The full title seems a bit queer nowadays, but we like it for two reasons: it's a slight nod to huge, overly descriptive or just strange titles of our favorite games like Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game, Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magic Obscura and many others; It's a matter of taste, mostly. As one of the people who picked us a title, I just love clunky, larger than life names. If you think that title is too long, believe it or not, we were almost "Atom: An indie post-apocalyptic roleplaying simulation" for a brief moment ;---D

Also we find it nice to be descriptive.

Even with a title like "Atom RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game" we sometimes get bad reviews saying something along the lines of "F**K THE DEVS, I THOUGHT IT WAS GONNA BE AN AAA FALLOUT 4 CLONE WITH FULL VOICE ACTING AND NEXT GEN GRAPHICS, GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK " :D I'm not even joking right now. I'm scared to imagine how many reviews like that we'd get without "indie game" in the title.
