I can get out to the load profile screen, but after that all I can figure out to do to exit is ALT+TAB and close program.

Also, how do I skip the ubisoft logo and disclaimer screen.

Oh, and is there a way to skip the 30 seconds or so of being unable to run after saving a citizen? I think I have heard their lines enough by now.

Is there a way to disable the poor and crazy people that attack you and prevent you from moving?

To exit the game simply Alt+F4. This closes the game immediately and you will lose no progress since the game automatically saves after every significant action (killing a templar, collecting a flag, etc.)

To my knowledge you can't skip the ubisoft logo or disclaimer but the intro video can be skipped (but you propably already knew that.)

You can't skip saved citizen dialogue nor can you prevent crazy people from trying to hurt you... but, later in the game you will acquire the ability to... I don't remember what it's called, but you can literally just run right through people and knock them out of YOUR way and that includes the crazy people and drunks.

Hope that helps :)

Ok thanks.

For some reason closing a game window like that feels like doing a force quit/ end task. I suppose I could go in and remove the logo from the code somehow, that that seems like more trouble than it is worth,
As I recall, you CAN exit the game normally after getting to the profile screen. There should be a Back button somewhere that takes you back to the title screen, from which you can exit. Unless I misunderstood the OP?

And sadly AC doesn't seem to have any viable command line launch options that would remove the Ubisoft logo or anything else.

Edit: dragonbeast below me got it. You have to select your profile again, something I forgot. Now I remember being annoyed by it.

'tis a very boring and repetitious quest indeed!
but behold! There is a spell said to exit quicker.
To perform the spell shout "Alltef Foor!"

...I would really like to know what the development team was thinking when they made it that difficult to exit the game normally. Surely the beta testers complained about that?
Lol ok im reading all peeps posts no one has explained this step by step from when your inna memory.

Step 1. While inna memory hit escape

Step 2. Click Exit Memory

Step 3. Itll ask you if your sure jess click yes dont worry bout your saved data its autosaved for you.

Step 4. Wate for the Animus to load up the memory blocks for you to select.

Step 5. Click Exit Animus

Step 6. As soon as the overlay for the animus disappears hit ESCAPE

Step 7. Click Quit Game

Step 8. Itll ask if your sure you want to jess click yes as your data is autosaved.

Step 9. Next click any key on the main menu when it asks you to.

Step 10. Choose your profile.

Step 11. After you have chosen your profile click on the Exit button on the main menu.

Step 12. Itll ask if your sure you wish to exit the game jess click yes.

& that is how you step by step clearly exit the game. I know there is a lot more to it than there should be but thats how the devs of this product made it.
This is like a joke, I wonder if it was improved in the sequels.

In C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Assassins Creed\Videos seem to be all the logos and stuff. I've just made a bunch of copies of the smallest .bik and renamed those copies to replace the originals. Now when I launch I see the 'Ubisoft Presents' screen, like four times!

It seems faster but I didn't time it to be sure.

Also tried creating empty files in the real videos place, but the game just crashed on launch. It'd be nice to have a tiny single frame .bik file to use.
Just create some empty files with the names of the intros (including .bik extension) to replace them. This should skip right through all intros. It works with most Ubisoft games at least.

All I did was rename the bik file extensions. I changed the extension of any movie I didn't want ot see from

.bik to .bi_

Works great with no delays.
