Hi, whenever I launch escalation (latest 2.1 ver) in DX12 mode it just crashes. I get a white screen and then the crash reporter. This also happened on the last patch.

As far as I am aware I have the latest graphic drivers for my GTX 1070 (I'll check in a bit). This did not happen last year with the old AOTS game (No idea what version).

Anyone got any ideas? DX11 works OK if I edit the settings file manually. Thanks.

The log from the game is:

Executable Version: 2.10.25624

Still crashes with the new update. :(

Still crashing :(

I've tried:

1. Latest nvidia drivers (Multiple releases over the month I have had this issue)

2. Disabling anti virus

3. Tried installing intel drivers as I had seen an old forum post saying this fixed it for people, but as I suspected it did not want to install as I had disabled the IGPU in the BIOS

4. Running the DX12 executable directly

5. Running with admin permissions.

I have submitted crash reports when the crash reporter popped up, but I've given up doing that as I imagine no one cares.

Anyone got any other ideas to try? The error logs from AOTSE are not very helpful to diagnose the issue.

Thanks
This game seems pretty dead in GOG. No replies and no fixes for DX12 not working.

Pity as its a nice game to have DRM free.

This is the log from the latest patch (No change log according to gog galaxy, so no idea what it was meant to do)

Within the game it is written there are some issues with the latest windows update and DX12. They advise to go back to DX11 in case of crashes.

Thanks for the info, I must have missed that.

Any idea what the update is and if they are planning on fixing it? The problem has been around for over a month for me at least.

Not that I can do much about it since windows these days does what it wants with updates.
Before answering, an info: each month there is a Dev journal on their website. It is quite interesting.

The answer is in the one of April: yes they are:

## Stability ##

The recent Windows updates have made DirectX 12 a little unstable in Ashes. And in fact, overall, we've been seeing an increase in instability. We have some theories on why this is happening (it's not like the underlying code has changed) but the bottom line is that we are making stability improvements our primary focus for version 2.3.
Interesting reads. Thanks
After the latest update the game no longer runs under Win7/64 (DX11) - so some code changes were certainly made and that might also explain the DX12 crashes...

Not sure if it was the GOG update today (Nothing else as Windows, GPU nore the game have changed) but DX12 mode has started working again.
Same problem, crashes on DX12. Oddly enough: seems to work on Vulcan o_O
i7, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1080.
Turn-off Galaxy overlay and DX12 will work.
