I've looked at previous threads regarding Windows 7 compatibility and have had no luck getting the game running. I've tried disabling my sound card, running in compatibility mode, modifying the cfg file, updating all my drivers, as well as rolling back to the previous version after I installed the 1.21 patch.

When I run the game, it doesn't do anything after that. I see it pop up in task manager, only to disappear after a couple seconds. I'm using the NVIDIA GTX 260M under Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it, as I'm pretty much close to just giving up.

What setting did you try to change in the config file ?

Here's what I would advise you to do:
- In the cfg file, change video=0 to video=1
- Don't enable any compatibility mode on the executable.
- Run the game as administrator

Hope on of these will solve your problem...

I didn't see a "video=0" anywhere. Under what section should I add it? I made it run as administrator, and I finally saw it try to load, but it crashed, so it's a step up at least. Thanks for the reply.

video=1 is the same as forcing the game to launch in full screen (full_screen=1) using your monitor's native resolution (resolution="max_width"x"max_height").

Oh, then yeah I tried that and it didn't work. I fiddled with different resolution values as well. At least this game works with my older laptop, so I'll play it there. I appreciate your assistance anyway.
I'm sorry I can't help you more. We tested the game on more than 12 different rigs, both under Vista and 7, and there's still plenty of bugs we couldn't reproduce at all... Very hard to support such an old game nowadays.
Win 7 64bit user here.

In the shortcut on the desktop I have it set to

Run in compatabililty mode. XP Service Pack 2

Disable Visual Themes - Checked
Disable Desktop Composition - Checked

Run as an administrator - Checked

I made no changes to the INI. I have the latest patch.

Im on a GTX 275 for the vid card

Hope this helps. The game is great. =)
