Just started playing under Vista 32-bit - game runs fine, no glitches, but I can't go into stealth mode. I have tried remapping keys, but nothing works. The default is L-SHIFT - but this does nothing. This also means I can't do spell presets which effectively rules out magic in combat . I tried turning on XP compatability mode - no change.
I really need some suggestions please - amd I missing something obvious?

Your Stealth skill and Dexterity may be too low -- the stealth appears automatically when you're in a dark place and cannot be seen. The stealth key is only used for moving in stealth mode. Plus, the stealth icon is only shown when there's someone around to hide from : )
Tr hiding in a corner unseen with NPCs nearby to see if the icon appears.

HI there, thanks for the reply. The stealth icon does appear if I walk through a dark area. But my concern is more with not being able to switch to "stealth mode" which I need to be in to precast spells. I have tried "precasting" (as explained in the manual) when the icon was visible - it makes no difference. So clearly there is a mode that I cannot access, which means I cannot precast spells. My stats are all reasonably high so I should be able to use stealth (and besides, it seems unlikely that they would have something as important as spell pre-casts dependent on a high sneak skill - they certainly make no mention of this).
