i played this ages ago , going to try this with Arx Libertatis. Just want to know if i can use the enhancement mod with Arx Libertatis .
Hey all, we are still alive!

1.1: Fixes player movement issues, minimap scaling, and a bunch of crashes and other bugs. We also continued our work on restructuring the engine, to facilitate new features in the future. Further, there is an improved installer for the data files on *nix systems as well as minor graphics and sound tweaks. See the for full details. While we haven't managed to include everything originally planned for 1.1, we felt it was high time for another release after nearly a year of development since 1.0.3. Thanks for the amazing work! The game is running very nice and smooth, and I hope this project will have further updates, too.
Hey all, I messed up a merge for the 1.1 release :o

1.1.1: This release is a hotfix addressing a regression introcuded in 1.1, that caused map markers to not be saved correctly and then removed when such a save is loaded. We encourage all users of Arx Libertatis 1.1 to upgrade to 1.1.1 as soon as possible. (announcement)

Awesome! I was afraid it would never get updated X.x I got stuck in the dwarven mines because of the speed issue. Now I can finish my stream of it :D
There is now an unofficial native Mac build available at the Porting Team where the Wine wrapper used to be. This should work better and it is the latest version. Please note that i did not have opportunity to test this build on any other machines, hence why this is unofficial. This is where future Mac build will be available until I can figure out with the Arx Libertatis team how to properly get things to build out of the box.

Another one:

1.1.2: This is another small hotfix, this time to fix a crash when hovering over map markers after the window size or resolution has changed. (announcement)

Oh damn I have been neglecting this forum for too long. I'll have to patch it next time I feel like playing it. can I still use my old save files with the new vershion?

Yes, the save file format hasn't changed since 1.0.
GOG should ask Arcane Studios two questions:
1st: Are we allowed to include the other language packages for ARX?
2nd: Are we allowed to include ArxLibertatis in the standard download?

Both would be fantastic news!
I'm playing both right now and to be honest I'm having trouble finding differences. What exactly should I be looking for?

On second question, I think this not under the control of Arcane Studio anymore. GOG could add whatever binary they want to the rest of the game, e.g. also the ArxLibertatis version. (But asking the ArxLibertatis project would be a nice move of GOG, even when not required by license.)

Changes from Arx Fatalis
Using this version has actually made the framerate worse, in addition to a whole lot of graphical bugs, textures moving around on objects.

I'd imagine the distribution/licensing agreement GOG.com has with Arkane/ZeniMax limits what changes they aee allowed to add - any problems introduced by them would reflect badly back on Arkane. *I* certainly wouldn't have a problem with including AL though (and the source code license allows that anyway).

:(

First, try updating your graphics drivers (and for NVIDIA Optimus, making sure it runs on the right card) doesn't help. AL 1.1 uses OpenGL instead of Direct3D by default and unfortunately for some HW/drivers that unfortunately seems to make things worse. Also, our OpenGL renderer is not as optimized as it could be - now that D3D support has been removed in the development code, it should be easier to restructure things to work better with GL. We hope to have performance improvements in AL 1.2. For now, you can try switching back to the D3D renderer with AL 1.1.x in the video settings - be sure to restart the game for it to take effect.

As for the graphical bugs, care to provide more details and screenshots?
