I just need to copy the folder "Save", or I need to copy the entire folder "modules"?
I already have installed Arcanum in my house, and now I want to transfer my saves (from the house of my friend) to my computer, but I don't know wich folders I need to copy.

You will just need the saves folder if it has any saves in it. If your on vista or win7 the saves may be located C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Arcanum\modules\Arcanum\Save. So just open the folder up to make sure it has them before copying them, then just place the saves onto your computer in the same location.
Okay, I'll try it tomorrow, when I get to home.

You can load the entire game on a thumb drive and carry it with you and play it whereever your heart desires. But moving the save folder is all you need if it installed on another computer.
Only thing problematic is that the save games switch locations depending on your user account.
On Windows 7 with an SysAdmin Account my saves usually go into the installation path of the game. Nothing with %AppData% or My Documents or such.
You could write a little programm, that determines your user rights, copies the savegames to the right location and starts Arcanum and as soon as you have finish playing, it copies the saves right back onto the thumb drive.

Here is a thread about the save game location with a discussion and an image of where the save directory is located.

Good news. I transfered the new saves to my computer.
I was thinking I would have compatibility problems, because I installed the unnoficial patches + high resolution patch, but nothing weird happened ;)
Thanks for all the help.
I will not mark X user reply as solution, because everyone posted usefull info.

What OS are you using? Did you install to Program Files (the default location) or to a different folder? The saves usually either go to your install directory, within the "modules" folder, or they go to:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Arcanum\modules\Arcanum\Save

But these locations will vary depending on where you installed, what OS you are using, and whether or not UAC was enabled (in Vista or Win7).

OK. Are the saves located in the directory I listed in my last post (i.e. users/<username>/Appdata....)? That's usually where they go in Win 7, but they might also be in your install directory, within the "modules" folder.

You can also search your hard drive for any files with the *.gsi extension.

Thanks, this solved it for me :)
