'ello... so glad to see this game on here.
So I have the game installed, UAP, widescreen mod and everything runs great - except for one problem: the scrolling is jerky as anything. The game is playable, but obviously not as enjoyable as it would be without this problem. Any tips on how to smooth this out?
Thanks!

Try setting the path in the game shortcut to "C:\Program files\GOG.com\Arcanum\Arcanum.exe" -no3d -doublebuffer
Adding the -no3d -doublebuffer seems to cure several graphics problems.
Edit: add -no3d -doublebuffer . . . your path may be different . . .=)

And... problem fixed, it looks like. Thank you very much!
You're welcome . . .=)
This problem has been solved... But not for me.
I am running Windows 7 and as such I can't add extra lines to the path or folder destination. Gives me the error the folder doesn't exist :(
Other options that might help?

I find that hard to believe. Granted, I'm still running machines on XP and Vista. When you create a shortcut and edit it, does it have a "Target" input? Where (normally) it's listing out the path to the executable the shortcut is for?

The attached image shows where you should add the -no3d -doublebuffer switches. Just click in the path anywhere, press the End key or use the right arrow key to move to the end of the path string. Add the switches and press the Apply button.
On the Compatibility tab . . . check the box next to "Run this program as an administrator" located in the Privilege Level box.
Windows 7 seems to work better with Arcanum if you have the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" unchecked. It is located on the Compatibility tab under Compatibility mode box.

It's what I tried before, but I got the message the path didn't exist. Now I tried it again, and it does work... I'm not sure what went wrong last time, except that I first set the -3d stuff in 'start in' instead of 'target'. I'm pretty sure I tried both though. Anyway, your image cleared things up and it's working fine now! Many thanks! :D

You sir are a scholar and a gentleman. Thank you so much for the screenshot! I've been trying to figure out this whole adding switches thing for an hour now.

You're welcome, thank you for the kind words . . . =)
I'm having the same problem, and the -no3d -doublebuffer options break the game further for me, as the screen tears constantly, making seeing where you are going imposible...
I should note that I play windowed also...
Also, the game crashes a lot... it's weird, everything freezes, my whole computer even... I've got to do ctrl+alt+del and kill the process...

After doing some testing the problems seems to happen only if I'm playing windowed...
