I've installed all the recommended mods except for high quality sound and high res town maps. I've played a few hours and I've done a few things in the first town. All was going well, and I could scroll over large distances to see the land to plan where I could go next. Now, however, something seems to have happened, maybe due to a key I've hit by accident, and my scrolling is very limited. Whenever I move my cursor to the edge of the screen, instead of scrolling, my cursor changes to a red cursor that has red arrows all around it, and I can only scroll the screen a few inches at most. When my characters are moving, I can scroll a bit more. Scrolling with the keyboard does the same thing. Can't scroll very far. It's as if it's in a different mode.

I did try the -no3d -doublebuffer in the command line, but that actually slows the game down for me and doesn't fix the problem. Anyone know of a fix?

I also had this problem, and found the command line fix in the notes section, within the high res patch readme. :

"Scrolling Distance:

The patch adjusts scrolling distance according to the resolution, so that you won't be able to scroll farther than at the original 800x600. At very high resolutions (and especially with low PE) this results in scrolling distance of 1, i.e. you can barely scroll the screen if your character is already in the center (the screen becomes more scrollable as you move closer to the edges). This seems logical, since as everything is already visible, there's no need to scroll. However, if you don't like this adjustment you can run the game with the '-scrolldist:0' command line argument, this will give you infinite scrolling distance, regardless of the resolution and your character's PE. Although it's important to note that if you scroll far enough at very high resolutions you will see inactive objects."
