so i'm trying to run this game through crossover games, and my first problem was that the mouse was just slow and weirdly jumping all over the place, making the game unplayable as any precise clicking was absolutely out of the picture. -no 3d -doublebuffer took care of that, but now the screen tears all over whenever i scroll up, again making it unplayable. the only way to undo the tearing is to scroll to the top of the screen, then back down to what i was trying to see.
any help here? i have no idea what kind of glitch this is, i've never seen anything like it before.
hello? anybody?
is there anybody out there?
are you all playing an unplayable version of the game?
I play Arcanum on wine (but not using crossover games), and have no problems. I will offer a couple of suggestions.

You write that you use -no 3d. There should be no space between no and 3d, so that the parameter looks like this -no3d. I also do not use -doublebuffer and everything runs fine.

Check to make sure you have vsync enabled for your video card. This can usually be checked and modified by typing amdccl or nvidia-settings in a console window.

Also, make sure whatever Desktop environment (Gnome, KDE, Openbox, etc) is using and capable of using vsync.

Finally, there appear to be several posts over at the forums at Crossover Games dealing with problems with this game. I would check there and post for more help. Again, I have no problem running with vanilla wine, but the problem could be with how Crossover does things.

Hope this helps.

it didn't help at all. in fact your suggestion actually had nothing to do with my problem.
