Narwhal: Two questions :
Does it break saved games ? My GF started a new game and will not restart over.
Does anyone has the patch note with the added content / fixes ? Cannot find it.
Thank you very much

I can help with the first. It will break your saved games. As for the second question, do the links in the first post not work anymore?

Petrell posted them on the previous page:

Petrell: I'm also hosting UAP and High res patch so you can try these links instead:
Unofficial Arcanum Patch Version 091225
Arcanum High Resolution Patch Version 1.1a
Here's also readme for UAP and it's extra content component:

UAP: Extra Content readme
Unfortunately I can't host the high quality town maps or lossless soundtrack because I don't have enough space on my site.

Since Petrell didn't have space for the HQ town maps and music files I put them up on a webspace I own:
http://dl.ck-services.net/files/arcanum-mods/HQ_Townmaps.exe
http://dl.ck-services.net/files/arcanum-mods/HQ_Music_MP3.exe
I will keep them up there for as long as necessary (unless bandwidth starts becoming a concern)
Oh !
Thank you for the answer. I am the kind of dude who say "Read the previous answers before asking questions" usually, but that time I am at fault ;)

Glad to see unofficial patch works, great release GoG!
I keep gettin an error msg when i install the highres patch.
"ERROR Installing [High Resolution Patch], rollong back to previuos state" in the dosbox.
Has anyone else had this problem n now how to fix?

I believe I had the same problem under Windows 7 x64. You'll need to run the patcher in Administrator mode, but right clicking on the patcher in explorer and selecting 'Run as administrator' did not work for me. I had to run it from an elevated command prompt.

As shadearg stated, you hav eto use the 'run as administrator' command in Win 7 x64, but mine worked with the right click....don't you just love errors that manifest in different ways. It is working for me now though, and is worth it to get it going. Let us know how it turns out for you.
So I installed the patches (unof patch, hi-res, high quality town maps, etc)
First off - as other people have reported, my game no longer launches.
Secondly - someone said this screws up your savegames? Ouch.
Is there ANY way to uninstall the patches and get my savegames back? For instance - is there a file in which they are saved in that I can copy, reinstall the game, then paste back into the Arcanim folder?
It would be a real bummer if I would need to start over again.
I realize that this is pretty much all my fault for not reading up on the patches themselves, but I think the OP should make it clear if it screws with your savegames.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
EDIT: I realize now that OP DID warn users - I was just an idiot and didn't see it.

I would uninstall the High Res patch first ( C:\Program files\GOG.com\Arcanum\HighRes.bat ) and see if the game will launch. The HR patch seems to be the problem most of the time.
If you created a restore point before installing the patches (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore) you can restore back to that point to return your system back to the state prior to the patch install. Windows system restore does not delete user files.
** if you restore to a point prior to the game install, manually delete the game directory ( C:\Program files\GOG.com\Arcanum ) prior to reinstalling the game. **
I am NOT referring to the manufacturers (Dell, HP, Gateway, etc) system restore but to the MS Windows restore program.
To be on the safe side, check the thread for the location of your save game files and make a backup first.
If you prefer not to use System Restore then uninstalling and reinstalling the game may be the only option as I have found no info on uninstalling the mods. Other community members may be able to provide mod uninstall instructions.
Edit: if you do uninstall / reinstall . . . check C:\Program Files\gog.com\ for any Arcanum directories that the uninstall did not remove and delete them manually prior to reinstalling the game . . . =)

Uninstalling the high-res patch completely fixed everything. My saved games work, etc. Thanks so much for your help!
I hope I'm not repeating some info already out there, but here goes:
I heard mention of a patch that allows one to level up beyond Level 50. Terra-Arcanum to the rescue. Under Downloads -> Arcanum -> Arcanum Hacks you will find two updates that are supposed to allow you to get to level 127:
First one: arcanum_uptolevel127_1074.zip
http://www.terra-arcanum.com/downloads/arcanum/hacks/arcanum_uptolevel127_1074.zip
Second one: Arcanum Universal level cap remover v0.0.1
http://www.terra-arcanum.com/downloads/arcanum/hacks/arcanum50patch-0.0.1.zip
The first one being first and all, I tried it out.... first. Didn't work since it's a new Arcanum.exe that doesn't take into account the GOG no-cd executable. It simply won't run for me since I have no CD.
The second one seems to work, at least in that it allows the game to load. It also allowed me to load a saved game so it doesn't appear to have borked those. However, I don't yet know if it will actually get the characters past level 50 since I have a ways to go before that becomes an issue.
Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there so someone else with the GOG version doesn't waste an extra 10 minutes on the first hack.

Thanks for that info, I was holding off going for that level cap remover for fear of losing the saves.

Seconded. For now you can favourite though.
