Gar can't wear most armor. Did they fix this? I swear I did the unofficial patch, but with some many stupid things still going on it seems like maybe I screwed up the patch or something.
Gar is a half-ogre and therefore can only wear large-size armor. This is a bit harder to find than normal-size armor, but not impossible... check shops and of course loot the corpses of any half-ogres you kill. Similarly, dwarves and gnomes can only wear small armor. By the way, if at any point you try to smith armor, remember that you can pick the size of it by using the correct size to start with. For example, a healing jacket is made from leather armor, so if you start with large leather armor you will get a large healing jacket.
EDIT: Oops, I was thinking of Sodd Mead Mug. Gar is actually a half-orc and should be able to wear normal-sized armor. Not sure what the issue is.
stuff breaking. seems impossible to fix yea?
I'm not sure if you can fix a fully broken item, but you can definitely fix damaged items. The easiest way is to go to Tarant, as the blacksmith and/or junk dealer are skilled enough at repairing items that they can do it without lowering the items' maximum durability. This will cost money but not too much.
Does the virgil guy coutn against followers or not? Seems like you need an awful lot of Charisma to up your follower number . People were talking about building an army...but to do that you got to put like 10 levels into just Charisma right?
If 50 is the level cap, then that is like 1/5 of all levels.
Virgil does indeed count as one of your followers. You can dismiss him if you'd rather take someone else though. But yes, you need a lot of charisma to get lots of followers... most characters who are NOT focusing on being smooth-talkers will only have one or maybe two followers. It is possible to make a character with max charisma who is still good at other stuff though... I've heard of playing a charismatic summoner or charismatic thief, for example. But if you want to get lots of differnet magic skills (i.e. more than one college) or you want to be a tech character who can make lots of tech items, you probably won't have enough points to also be very charismatic.
The exact charisma values you need for each additional follower is given in the manual.
There is a mod to remove the level cap if you like, but I actually like it because it means you have to specialize to some extent and can't learn everything. I did hit the level cap before the end of the game but it was close to the end.
UI seems pretty tedius.
Fair point, although learning some keyboard shortcuts can help a bit.
