I just wondering is there someone in taran who can indentify gear? nothing is more bad finding a blue unindentified item and have too run back to shrouded hills because thats the only area i know that there is a person who can indentify.
There is a gypsy who can identify stuff in Tarant, she's just out of the way.

You need to run past the docks to the Southeast part of the map, near the entrance to the closed sewers. There's grass there so it should be visible on your map.

ok thanks for the quick reply
So's you know, there's such a lady in most towns, invariably at the edge of the map and hard to find. Caladon's is probably the worst that way.

and since most of the gear you find are blue, i have found orange gear as well but most of them are useless since they were balanced with pro and con.

Orange stuff is cursed, hence the negatives. Also beware wearing some cursed stuff, as it is mostly way more harmful than beneficial.

Thanks i didnt know that i tought it were special gear because they are a lot of value as well when you try to sell them at the vendor.
I suppose that's because some curses are just worth it. Unlike most games with cursed items, that orange glow in Arcanum may simply mean there's a tradeoff.

Fun fact about the magic-women, if I don't think I"ll be back in a town I just murder one because sometimes they have 10K gold, which is handy if you are just level 5 and starting out in Shrouded Hills. What? I only do it with my evil character...

I did that myself this time around, just to get a head start. :-)

I thought that if you kill one all the rest of them will refuse to talk to you. I don't know if I'm remembering that correctly though.
You would think that, but oddly enough they seem cool about you killing their siblings.
By the way, I have noticed that getting something identified seems to adjust the price that people will pay for it. I just played a game where I got the cursed dagger out of the Bessie Toone mine, before I got it identified all three vendors on that strip (Reitze, blacksmith and general store) were offering around a hundred for it, after having it identified (and revealing it was cursed) the best I could get was ten.
Sometimes, it's the difference between 100 and 10. Sometimes it's the difference between 100 and 3000.
I've noticed Ristezze likes you more if you sell him nice stuff. I've not checked to see if he likes you less for selling him a loser item like that dagger...
