I don't know what's up, but whenever I choose "Autorun: Off" in the options, it always resets back to "On" whenever I change the options window or press done. Even the arcanum.cfg says "autorun=0" but it doesn't change the fact that my character is always running.
It's not too much of a problem, but it's not very RPG-like for you not to be able to walk at all.
Any solution to this?

If you're on Vista/win7, are you running the game shortcut as admin ?
I'm running the game on WinXP/SP3.

That's weird, cause it sounds like your typical Vista/7 permissions issue, but since you're on XP i honestly have no idea why that would happen.
Long shot, but maybe try to set the autorun to 1 in the config file, then fire up the game and go to options to see what happens...

NumLock toggles the autorun so if you have your numlock on you will always be in run.

And there we have it. I'm just so used in needing the numpad for numbers instead of arrow keys so I always have it on. Thanks.

You're welcome, I have my numlock on by default as well so . . . had the same problem . . . =)
AHHH thank you so much. I was getting so frustrated at not being able to turn autorun off. Thank you!!
Not to necro a thread, but I have this exact same problem on my laptop. It doesn't have a number pad, so no numberlock. Any ideas?

I can think of a couple of options although they're certainly not ideal.

- Plug in an external keyboard that does have a numlock. You don't need to play with it necessarily, just use numlock.

- See if it is possible to fake Numlock using Capslock or Scrollock or some other key using Autohotkey and try that.

- Search online to see if someone has made an unofficial patch/hack to the binary to switch it to use Scrollock or Capslock instead, then use that.

- Use a debugger to binary hack the executable yourself and reconfigure it to use the Scrollock or Capslock key instead of Numlock.

- Ask/beg/pay someone else to do it.

The downside is a bit of mucking around, the upside is that it should be rather easy.
