Hey there,

I was about to install the first Alone in the Dark games when I read in the "What did just update" thread they still erase compatibility settings upon uninstall :(

Is there any chance these get an update that fixes the issue?

Thanks in advance.
Anyone at home, GOG?

Can you write to Support about that? That way it automatically gets tracked and logged and goes through the proper channels. Thanks :)

Thanks Judas, will do.
Still I think it's a bit odd that Support needs to be alerted specifically about them - I was under the impression that all of the "first generation" v2.0 installers caused this problem, no?

We swapped those out but we may have missed some. The reason I ask for the Support email is because that it's a LOT more orderly than simply me passing it on :D

Oh oh, I apologize for the misunderstanding :(

I fully understand that it's better (best?) to contact Support about an issue instead of you passing it on and I've already done it.
I was just surprised that there was a need to make Support aware of the issue in the first place; it never crossed my mind that some installers may have slipped through during the fixing phase and quite foolishly assumed that GOG's done with fixing this issue for all games - and that's what my comment was (supposed to be) about.

Well, we do our best to solve issues but when you have so many installers one or two may slip by. We're only human, after all :)

Rest assured, we like you better because of this ;P

And Support replied to me - gears have been put to motion already. \o/
