There's not AvP 2 (2001) in this version included?

Because I loved this game (2) and I don't know AvP 1...
AVP2 is one of my favourite games of all time. They improved some good stuff from AVP that is a bit awkward.
The rights to AvP2 are tricky so I'll break it down as easy as I can. First, the game was developed by Monolith, owners of the Lithtech engine. In 2004 Warner Bros bought Monolith. Aliens, Predator, and Aliens vs. Predator and all its related characters and settings are properties of 20th Century Fox. It's called an IP or intellectual property. Fox owns the IP and Warner owns the game that was built within the IP. Warner and Fox are competitors. You will likely never see them come to a legal agreement in order to re-release a 13 year old game.

As long as Warner owns Monolith and Fox owns the IP they created AvP2 will forever remain in limbo.

I don't think Monolith has any rights, unless there was a contract between Monolith and Fox that they also have publishing rights, which would be now inherited by WB.

They developed it for sure, but it was ultimately published by Fox in collaboration with Sierra back then (now Activision Blizzard). Still tricky but I think Activision Blizzard and Fox (mostly AB cause Fox Interactive was bought over by Sierra in 2003) would be the one to give a go ahead if it has to released on GoG or Steam for that matter. Doesn't help the situation though, too many companies involved.

Too bad, cause Monolith also developed two more great shooters under Fox/Sierra banner.........the NOLF games, and I would love see them on the GoG catalog.

EDIT: Not a shooter but another Fox/Monolith game, Sanity : Aiken's Artifact. Man this one bring back memories.

was 1 of my favourite game all time..i own the CD version and i really want to play this game online again..was a Blat, monolith created very very good games in the past..i hope it will be released on new gog galaxyes
Yeah, Monolith developed some fantastic stuff in the past. Shadow of Mordor is the best thing they made in a while, so i'll have the hope they regain at least some of their old form.

So AvP2 can't be bought at the moment? That's explains why i couldn't find it.
I really hope we will see AvP 2 here one day (with LAN support!). It is still one of my favorite games.
It's probably going the way of No One Lives Forever. :(
AvP2 was a major improvement and its the best in the series next to AvP '99. I hope someday GoG will be able to get this game out there because it is a must have.

Although not officially re-released onto GOG.com or on Steam, and it's unlikely ever will be re-released officially again, however AvP2 had been available on the AvP Unknown website for quite some time.

See for yourself here everyone:

http://www.avpunknown.com/avp2aio/

This is the FULL ALL-IN-ONE EDITION OF ALIENS VERSUS PREDATOR 2.

It's essentially the entire package weighs about 1 GB and contains all of the following:

Aliens vs. Predator 2 - Full Game
Aliens vs. Predator 2: Primal Hunt - Full Game (official Mission Pack/Expansion Pack)
Aliens vs. Predator 2 - 1.0.9.6 Updates which is the last and final update patch
Aliens vs. Predator 2 - Single Player and Multi-player Maps' updates
Aliens vs. Predator 2 - Official tools (Official SDK)
Aliens vs. Predator 2 - Linux Dedicated Server
Aliens vs. Predator 2 - Official Strategy Guide from Prima's games

*MOST IMPORTANTLY* a DVD or CD emulator such as Daemon Tools or Elaborate Bytes's Virtual CloneDrive will be required for the installation process, as you would have to mount the AvP2 or AvP2 Primal Hunt ISO's which are full images of the original discs's content.

Thanks for this! The Xenomorph is my fictional spirit animal.

I have a question. When do I install update? Before of after Primal Hunt? Ok... two questions. One more, Do map update effect initial game experience? I finished AvP 2000 so this is my first run through in AvP2.

It is a pity that GOG will not realease AvP2. Multiplayer is still played but only few players.. Sometimes is peak about 20 players online (one full server) but it deserves much more and GOG can help our community to grow up a lot.

If only it were as simple as that.

If you want play multiplayer with us, visit official site: AvP2.us
