My fiancee has the GOG version of Act of War. Act of War: Direct Action works perfectly, however, whenever she runs High Treason, she gets this error:

Exception 'EAccessViolation' in module ActOfWar_HighTreason.exe at 0000A563
Violation d'acces a l'adresse 0040B563 dans le module
'ActOfWar_HighTreason.exe.' Eciture de la'adresse 730A013C
Source file: UNKNOWN, Line UNKNOWN

Can anyone help us out? Anything she can do to resolve this? It works great for me, but not for her, and we both have Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate Edition.

Try turning off DEP on her Windows as it can and has been known to interfere with older games like Act of War :)

She turned DEP off for Act of War High Treason and it still did not work. : ( Does she need to turn it off for All of Windows? She just turned DEP off for AoW

Try turning it off globally for now and see how that works. Also, try running the game as Administrator and try the various compatibilty settings such as Windows XP Service Pack 2 and things like that. If nothing works, please have send us a support ticket by following this link:

http://www.gog.com/support/contact/technical_issues_with_games/act_of_war_gold_edition

and selecting "crashing" as the problem type from the drop down menu. Make sure she submits a DxDiag report with the ticket as that really helps :)

Okay, I'll see how turning it off globally works. If that doesn't, we'll put in a support ticket tonight when she gets home.
Try the compatibility settings, I had the same issue on Windows 8.1 x64 bit. I ticked everything in the compatibility tab and it launched fine. You can disable everything else after you launched it but leave it to use XP Service Pack 2 and running as administrator and it will work fine afterwards.

When we go to properties, it's already set to Windows XP SP2 and administrator. : /

Did you tick all the other ones? Specifically "Run in 640x 480 screen resolution", "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" and "Run in 256 Colors".

JudasIscariot: Try turning off DEP
And see what will happen.

I switcched from GTX1650 to Vega10 and it started.
