Absolver seems to be a multiplayer-driven experience, being able to play with any PC-player regardless of platform would be appreciated.

Will crossplay be supported for this game?

Shadow Warrior 2 had crossplay beween Steam and GoG. So i wouldn't be surprised if that would be case here as well. At least i hope so
According to the Steam page this game DOES have crossplatform gameplay
According to the Absolver-Twitter-Account crossplay between GoG and Steam will be possible https://twitter.com/Absolver/status/891385025534595073

Mh, that's actually excellent news. This hopefully also means that they have to keep both versions synced, and not let us GoG folks wait for months on end for bugfixes and patches (STRAFE devs, I'm looking at you...).

I wonder if there will be a way to add friends with steam accounts; while crossplay worked with Shadow Warrior 2, none of my usual acquaintances played it, so I couldn't test whether that worked...
like b00kah already said, the developers said so on their Twitter account. And I suppose you saw this already, but just in case you didn't, GoG confirmed there's crossplay with Steam.

Thanks for the info guys.
Why is this considered a feature? two pc games not being able to play together is ... something everyone thinks they should be great full for?

wow have gamer really gotten so abused that this is considered a feature... "New feature this game has a 50% chance to NOT crash on start up! buy it now!"

I do wonder if your question was genuine or just sarcastic.

As much as I understand what you say, from a developer viewpoint is a different matter. It's not common to see crossplay between different clients (heck, even when playing lan through third party softwares you NEED to use the same tool with your friends, you can't simply use different ones and think that lan will work). Also, there are already games which do not have the crossplay features (see dragon's dogma, were we can't share pawn with steam users, and similar) so the concern people have is pretty genuine and justified.

I agree that PC gamers are abused, but I only agree when it coems to big pubblishers, not some indie devs, who even cared to put their game here and add crossplay with steam.
