Shhh.... Ubisoft might hear you! They don't know there's a $5.99 price point, and if they were to find out, they'd be really embarrassed. I can just imagine their faces if they were to ever find out that they could sell Heroes of Might & Magic for a price that people might actually buy it at. -_-;

The price cut is nice, I wanted to pick stuff up during the promo but wasn't able to. Now I can wait for my paycheck, and still get some classics at a great price.

The first heroes game is great as a start to the series however I am just baffled by the pricing of ubisoft's titles, why would anyone buy the first heroes game when you can get Heroes 3 with all expansion packs for the same price? the game itself only went like...3 times on sale since it was added to the catalogue...I got it during the ubisoft sale but damn

Is everything on this site for you expected? Port Royale 2 was quite well placed at 9.99. The others not so much...

Good. Now all of these games are at reasonable prices that reasonable people could purchase (although, Disciples II is still better than Sacred Lands in every way) Unfortunately, I already own 3 of the 4 games listed, and have no interest in Port Royale. Hooray?

Well, it's a good start to the series, but that's true for a lot of games. There are a few great series that started out with games that should've outright killed the chances of any sequels. That's all besides the point entirely.

HoMM II and III are worth $10, maybe, but it wouldn't be too hard to place at least one of them at the $6 mark. The original HoMM could've just been bundled with HoMM II. I wouldn't pay $10 for it.

As for why anybody would get HoMM when they can get the sequels... well, maybe they want to play it despite how much the sequels improved things? I want to play it again, but not for $10. Even on sale, it cost more than a good amount of GOG titles at $7. I got the other two games and passed on HoMM.


They have the right to assume every last one of their games is worth a premium. I have every right to disagree and not pay $10 for something I feel they should charge less for. Personally, I think they're wrong, and they'll likely get a lot more sales once they realize it.

Interplay has the right idea. They have some damn good games, and not one of them is $10. :D

I´ve bought all games from HoMM series. That makes me GOG´s village idiot, I suppose. :-)

Have to say I agree. I wanted to buy HOMM 3 off GOG but didn't like the ten dollar price point. So I had to go the physical media route and wound up picking up HOMM 3 and 4 for ten bucks which was worth it to me. I hate having to have the disc in the drive, but the games just weren't worth it to me for $10.

Well done, GOG. PR2 at $5.99 is a nice value, imo.

I have to agree that while the pricing on many games is good, some of the $10 titles are just overpriced. I suspect that GOG has limited control there - it's probably mostly up to the publishers licensing the games, but when you have games here that are more expensive than buying them in physical form years ago, it's a bit off-putting.

Nevertheless, the DRM-free concept and the nice packaging makes me prefer titles here, so when I see a bad deal, I just wait for a reduction and/or sale - the silly pricing doesn't drive me elsewhere, it just puts off the sale. What can I say, I'm a GOG addict! >.<

What happened to me was I missed the HOMM deal. I was just getting into the turn-based pc strategy genre, so this game was fairly unknown me. Once I saw what it was and played a demo of it, I had to have it. So it was more my issue than GOG's, since a few months later in the Christmas deal, everything was half off.
