GOG.com’s Holiday Celebrations are Almost Here!

UPDATE: The blizzard of holiday bonus codes has almost ended; check back at 17.00 GMT for our final giveaway's rules!

Winter is settling in around us, and we wanted to share with all of you guys what GOG.com’s holiday celebrations are going to be so you know what’s coming up from your favorite digital downloadable games distributor.

Starting on this Thursday, we’ll have The Witcher 2 on an eye-popping 40% off discount for 48 hours AND we’re bundling in a free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition with any purchase of The Witcher 2. We’ll be running this from 11.00 GMT on Thursday 8 December until 10.59 GMT on 10 December, and it’s the best bargain we’re going to have on the Witcher series this holiday season!

Then, on Saturday, we will start a season of holiday celebrations by awarding a number of game codes to you guys! We’ll have copies of Master of Orion I + II, courtesy of GOG and Atari, copies of Realms of Arkania I + II, and lots of codes for $5.99 and $9.99 games. We’ll be giving them away through social media (that’s Facebook and Twitter) as well as through our forums right here on GOG.com! Be sure to check in with us this weekend and you just might win an awesome game or two from us.

Finally, we’re starting our winter sale with a huge bang--we’re giving anyone a free copy of Empire Earth Gold Edition for 48 hours. Starting on Monday 12 December at 11.00 GMT and running until Wednesday 14 December at 10.59 GMT, anyone can add Empire Earth: Gold Edition to his or her shopping cart for free as a holiday gift from us to you!

Also, starting on Monday at 11.00 GMT, GOG.com is adding virtually every single game in our catalog for 50% off from now until 2 January 2012. Pick up games from fantastic publishers and developers like EA, Interplay, Atari, Activision, Sierra, and many more for half off this holiday season!

With an incredible 50% off Holiday Promo, we hope that we’ve solved all your holiday shopping needs, whether its an action-packed shooter like Painkiller for your cousin Timmy, a great thinking-man’s chess game like Chessmaster 9000 for your Uncle Bob, or even a restaurant-management simulation like Restaurant Empire to try and encourage your crazy roommate to learn how to cook, you will be able to pick it all up from GOG.com at incredible holiday savings!

Happy Holidays to all!

MonstaMunch: We get two seasons here, wet and dry. The floods just finished so now it's time for the drought....
Almost same here, a bit cold, just leave college back to home; preparing for dinner xD

They're heeeee-eeeerrrrrreeee!
216
Oh my GoG! You guys rule!
Now if you only would publish System Shock 2 on here. Really want to try that game out without having to tweak my azz off

Wait a second... Every GOG in the store... Half-off? From the 12th to the near-beginning of January!?
I know what I'm spending my ygood-grade and birthday money on now... I haven't gotten any games here besides all the freebies, but before long, there won't be any hypothetical space on my hyper-hypothetical digital shelf left!
I'm seriously about to start planning what I might get, at least 2 days before the sale, and at least a week before I get the good-grade money! :U

I'd love to give "Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura" a try.

I presume you mean that's what you'll get 50% off. In case you're posting these to have a chance to win them, it's not the thread for that.

I want to walk down memory lane with the Good Old Game:

King's Quest 7+8

Please pick me out. :-)
222
I would love to play Gothic 1. Fingers crossed!

This is more proof that if you're going to have a big promo like this, you'd better beef up your infrastructure tenfold.

I was right there at the beginning of the second batch of Realms of Arkania codes. The site instantly went under overload, and by the time it recovered, all 100 codes were instantly redeemed.

Anyway, my vote's for Starflight 1 + 2 out of the $5.99 games...unless I can potentially win twice over Twitter and the forums, in which case I vote for Raptor: Call of the Shadows.

TheEnigmaticT: We won't be giving out $5.99 gift codes to any of you who have already purchased the game, no. Part of why we announced it so far out in advance is so that no one would say, "I just bought this game yesterday!" when we begin the giveaway.
Aww... D;

When JA:DG was given away, people who already had it were given a choice of other games...
225
@everyone stating what games they'd like to win: you can do so in this thread, not here.

Jarmo: Oh dear.

I already have a huge bunch of games I've not opened and it looks like I'll be grabbing a huge bunch more.

Those "I already have a boxed version, but I'll grab the GOG just in case now that it's half price" purchases you don't even intend to install.
Oh my, that certainly sounds familiar to me. The other day I had the shocking discovery that I actually installed less than 25% of all the games that I've purchased on GOG. I just download them and hide them in my pile of precioussss.

Also, I must accept that my above statistic will get even more worrisome after the 12th. Sigh.

Giveaways are boring.
I have so many games in steam, gog and other places that I don't buy games even at low prices until it is something interesting.

Waiting for something interesting. :-/
