From Monochrome to Monarchy: King's Quest History - pt.3

We continue the retrospective by David Craddock about Roberta Williams' King's Quest saga in the third part of "From Monochrome to Monarchy" series of articles.
Having relocated the setting of King's Quest II from Daventry to another magical realm, Roberta Williams' colleagues at Sierra On-Line, as well as the computer adventure game community at large, weren't too worried upon learning that King's Quest III: To Heir is Human would not take place in Daventry. After all, players had once again been transported into the adventure-worn boots of King Graham for King's Quest II -- as long as Graham's familiar face was available to guide them, they would eagerly take on any quest constructed by the "Queen of the Graphic Adventure."
