Games I'll never forget

Fallout

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: The game opened to some dialog and then I went outside to punch some rats. Things got better. One of the best (If not THE best) open world RPGs ever created.

Fallout 2

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: Like the first game, but with more stuff! Sure, there were new problems, but this game was unforgettable too.

Fallout Tactics

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: Yes, I like Tactics. It may have been a betrayal of the series roots but it was an awesome game. Enjoy it for what it is, not for what you expected it to be.

Divine Divinity

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: The writing was on-and-off, as was the voice acting, and the combat was very frustrating, but Divine Divinity was a brave attempt to tell an interesting story while also having action-packed combat. It nearly succeeded.

Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: An interesting game to say the least. Definitely not perfect, but for £6 it's worth a look for any action-RPG fan. It takes many of the same risks as DD up there, mixing action with storytelling. It made the same mistakes.

Unreal Tournament GOTY

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: Best UT game ever. Okay, some fans of the later games may disagree, but this one is the purest, most Unreal of the UT games ever to come out. The others borrowed heavily from Quake 3 and Halo, removing the original feeling of the first game.

Unreal Gold

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: A pretty damn good single-player FPS, mixing action with exploration and maybe a little bit of horror. It may look a bit dated now, but the gameplay is just as good as it ever was.

Psychonauts

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: Do I even need to explain this one? Worth £10. Worth £20. Worth anything, for you will never experience anything else like it. Platforming can be frustrating, but the story is Tim Schafer at his best.

Serious Sam: The First Encounter

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: Kaboom! Death! Things die! Any fans of the original DOOM ought to know why I love this so much. This is FPS the way it used to be - mad and almost story-less. On co-op multiplayer, it's something truly unforgettable.

Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: With the exception of the sequel, Baldur's Gate is quite possibly the best fantasy RPG ever created. Brilliant characters, a unique story and the D&D ruleset to back that all up. The game is pretty slow-going at the start, but its worth it.

Age of Wonders 2: The Wizard's Throne

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: I never played this solo, so I have no idea what the story was like, but playing it multiplayer was some of the most fun I can remember. Faintly. It was a while ago.

Cannon Fodder

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: An odd little game, in which you controlled little soldiers and, in my case at least, got them killed gruesomely.

Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: A fantastic FPS which failed financially because it ended up going against DOOM, the king of FPS games. With it's dated Wolf3D engine, it didn't stand a chance. Great game, and consider this my spot for both Blake AND Wolf3D.

Stronghold

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: A truly unique RTS, and quite an old-fashion one. Defend your king! Build your defenses and your village. Keep the people happy, should they leave the castle and leave you without workers. Again, another game best played multiplayer, but good solo.

or

Stronghold Crusader

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: Possibly even better than the first, because it was almost the same game with more stuff. If you can only buy one, I'd recommend this one. Even though it's £10, while the first is £6.

Sacrifice

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: I'm putting this in for my brother, for I never really finished the single-player. But from what I remember of the multiplayer, it was awesome. It may LOOK weird, but . . . yeah it's weird, and worth your money.

Gobliiins pack

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: Some truly wacky adventure games, a bit old and decrepit now, sure, but as funny and crazy as they ever were, I bet.

Earthworm Jim 1 + 2

TheMoatMonster's rating:
250

TheMoatMonster says: Some pretty silly platformers, and I was extremely young when I played these, so I can't remember much. But what I do remember is having fun, because these are some pretty kick-arse games. Avoid the 3D version, buy these.

Treat your GOGmix as your child - name it! ;)

Coming up with a cool and descriptive title should be your first priority. Being original is in your best interest - bet you wanna get lots of nice votes, right? Go all crazy if you want, but be sure to keep it civil!

So, what are the ingredients?

Pick a game that belongs in your GOGmix from the list, or find it by typing something in the text field. Relevance is key here - Earthworm Jim doesn't quite fit the "Sexiest heroines of all time" bill now, does it?

Justify your choice... Or not!

OK, so it's not required, but now that you went through the trouble of adding a game, telling everyone why you did it would be a nice finishing touch. After you're done here, add another game, rinse, repeat.
