For one thing, both will see you shifting between two completely different realms. In The Longest Journey it will be between stark reality and a fantasy dream-world. In Sanitarium, on the other hand, you'll be plunged into an insane world like from a madman's nightmare, with just a few flashbacks of reality to keep you sane... Somewhat. Most importantly, though, they're both great adventure titles which you can now get 50% off, regardless of whether you buy one or both of them. If you haven't played them yet, you won't get a better chance than right now. Mar 19, 2010 http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage New release: Another World: 15th Anniversary Edition The enhanced edition of one of the most awesome and innovative games ever is now here on GOG.com. It's hard to believe that such a gem was made almost entirely, musical score aside, by just one man!

Another World is a platformer, created in 1991 by Eric Chahi. For many of you it may have been the most memorable title of your earliest gaming years. The 15th Anniversary Edition is a recreated version of of the game, which lets you re-experience it through higher-resolution graphics or, if you prefer, just play the oldschool VGA version. The game is quite challenging (remember those map screenshots that took up two pages of a '90s gaming magazine?), but with twice as many checkpoints it's a lot easier than it used to be. Whether you played the original or not, you can't go wrong by getting this title and reliving the glory days of computer gaming. Mar 18, 2010 http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage New release: Empire Earth II Gold Edition Exactly eight months after releasing its predecessor, we're proud to introduce to you the second game from the acclaimed Empire Earth series, commonly believed to be the best installment yet.

Empire Earth II is a real-time strategy game which lets you recreate some of the most pivotal moments in history, both ancient and recent. The Gold Edition contains the main game and its expansion, The Art of Supremacy. Combined, they offer seven single player campaigns, spanning over four thousand years of actual history, with a few decades of believable sci-fi afterwards. Fans of the first Empire Earth game will not be disappointed with EE2, as it both retained all the strong points of its predecessor and added a ton of new features and improvements, making the game more complex, challenging and ultimately more satisfying to play. Mar 12, 2010 http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage New release: Gabriel Knight 3 Being the latest, but hopefully not the last, part of the Gabriel Knight saga. Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned fills many gaps left in the wake of its prequels and is a must-have for any fan of the series.

Gabriel Knight 3 is a 3D point-and click adventure game. While the classy 2D graphics, or the well-orchestrated FMV sequences of its predecessors may be missed, GK3 fared the transition from 2D to 3D very well. The primary upside is that the in-game environments are now more interactive and open to exploration, much like in the newer Tex Murphy games. The storyline is as deep and complex as ever, filled with dark secrets and unfathomable conspiracies. Four years after GK2, Gabriel Knight - the Schattenjäger - is pitted against a breed of evil he has never faced before, when an exiled prince asks him to protect his newborn son from what appear to be vampires... Mar 11, 2010 http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage New release: AquaNox Imagine a gripping, deep storyline, mixed with gameplay somewhere between Descent and Freespace, only much more challenging and underwater. Its plot is set in a high-tech, corrupt underwater world, in a time after the surface world's resources were depleted and humanity destroyed what was left in a devastating war. Mankind fled to the oceans, with sunlight and fresh air now just old concepts, all but forgotten. You are mercenary leader Emerald Deadeye Flint, a war hero down on his luck - broke, with his precious sub stolen and stuck with an old mining vessel generously given to him by his new employer to get him started. Right now you're set on reclaiming your ship, but the deeps like to keep surprises lurking in the dark. Mar 05, 2010 http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage New release: Return to Krondor It's been a while since we last treated you to a role-playing game. As a direct sequel to the famous Betrayal at Krondor, this title should require no recommendation.

Return to Krondor is a classic RPG, set in the fantasy world of Midkemia from Raymond Feist's Riftwar Saga. Compared to its prequel, it offers a more linear, but equally gripping storyline, improved graphics and a few innovative features, like its complex alchemy and lockpicking systems. The story puts you in the shoes of Squire James of Krondor, tasked with following a ruthless mercenary called Bear, who is searching for a powerful artifact, the Tear of the Gods. As you witness the destruction left in Bear's wake, and face dark, horrible beings of unknown origin, it becomes clear that you've gotten yourself into a larger quest than you bargained for. Mar 04, 2010 http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage New release: Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh While not a direct sequel, Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh has a lot in common with the original. It had the misfortune of enduring very critical reviews, but we encourage you to give it a chance and judge it for what it is.

Phantasmagoria 2 is a horror-themed, FMV-based point-and-click adventure game. The game has got a ton of strong points, contrary to what the experts may believe. The story gets you hooked very quickly and contains scenes which are taboo in pretty much every other game, sex included. The puzzles range from intuitive to almost impossible, so a walkthrough might prove useful, but feel free to experiment. Unlike in many other adventure games, there are many FMV sequences for failed attempts (like opening a door with a screwdriver), rather than a plain Sorry, Dave by the main character. So, although you may have been discouraged from playing this game, why not give it a shot and decide by yourself whether it's good or not? As he [William] meticulously composed plotter-line-drawing maps of the sprawling caverns he and his wife had traversed, William allowed his imagination to run wild, christening each area with whimsical names such as The Hall of the Mountain King and Twopit Room. The release of Dungeons & Dragons in 1974 fueled William's already active imagination. Mar 01, 2010 http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage
