Exactly eight months after releasing its predecessor, we're proud to introduce to you the second game from the acclaimed Empire Earth series, commonly believed to be the best installment yet.

Empire Earth II is a real-time strategy game which lets you recreate some of the most pivotal moments in history, both ancient and recent. The Gold Edition contains the main game and its expansion, The Art of Supremacy. Combined, they offer seven single player campaigns, spanning over four thousand years of actual history, with a few decades of believable sci-fi afterwards. Fans of the first Empire Earth game will not be disappointed with EE2, as it both retained all the strong points of its predecessor and added a ton of new features and improvements, making the game more complex, challenging and ultimately more satisfying to play.

Another Friday, another weekend promo on GOG.com! This week we're giving you a chance to play two of the best titles created in the wake of the X-COM series, both of which managed to improve upon their ancestor.

If you've been reluctant to try out UFO: Aftershock and UFO: Aftermath until now thinking "But it's not X-COM", why not give them a shot this time, now that they're both dirt-cheap? There are enough similarities to make you feel right at home, but with all the additions and the fantastic real-time/active pause combat system, they're in many respects an improvement, even though they belong to a whole different series! Until Monday, March 15 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, we're giving you a 50% discount if you buy both games or if you already have one and buy the other. If you buy only one game, you'll get a 30% discount. Check out the promo page for details.

Being the latest, but hopefully not the last, part of the Gabriel Knight saga. Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned fills many gaps left in the wake of its prequels and is a must-have for any fan of the series.

Gabriel Knight 3 is a 3D point-and click adventure game. While the classy 2D graphics, or the well-orchestrated FMV sequences of its predecessors may be missed, GK3 fared the transition from 2D to 3D very well. The primary upside is that the in-game environments are now more interactive and open to exploration, much like in the newer Tex Murphy games. The storyline is as deep and complex as ever, filled with dark secrets and unfathomable conspiracies. Four years after GK2, Gabriel Knight - the Schattenjäger - is pitted against a breed of evil he has never faced before, when an exiled prince asks him to protect his newborn son from what appear to be vampires...

Imagine a gripping, deep storyline, mixed with gameplay somewhere between Descent and Freespace, only much more challenging and underwater. Add to that then-revolutionary graphics and you've got AquaNox.

AquaNox is a submarine simulation/shooter game by Massive Development. Its plot is set in a high-tech, corrupt underwater world, in a time after the surface world's resources were depleted and humanity destroyed what was left in a devastating war. Mankind fled to the oceans, with sunlight and fresh air now just old concepts, all but forgotten. You are mercenary leader Emerald "Deadeye" Flint, a war hero down on his luck - broke, with his precious sub stolen and stuck with an old mining vessel "generously" given to him by his new employer to get him started. Right now you're set on reclaiming your ship, but the deeps like to keep surprises lurking in the dark.

Another week of hard work has passed and it's time for deserved rest. And on GOG.com it's time for a weekend promo!

Once again we're giving fans of classic adventure games a reason to cheer, at least we hope so ;). If somehow you have resisted grabbing Uru: Complete Chronicles and realMyst for their original prices, you might change your mind this weekend. Until Monday, March 8 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, we're giving you a 25% discount on both titles, meaning you can grab realMyst for only $4.49 and Uru: Complete Chronicles for only $7.49. Check out the promo page for more details.

Imperfect but superior sequel -- Let's be clear here. If you're hankering for a Sierra FMV adventure game your first stop should be the excellent Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within. Phantamasgoria 2 is not in that league, either in game design, writing, or acting. However, while game elements and puzzles in P2 are light and either hilariously easy or obtuse by turns, there are definitely things to be said for the... full review

Worth a playthrough, if your expectations aren't too high -- Surpassing my low expectations, Sierra delivers an enticing sci-fi/horror concept with intense and gritty scenes, some fun moments, and at times Hollywood-esque slasher suspense.... full review
