We're proud to announce our third Activision release. If you've ever played an RPG session set in the World of Darkness, the game's title and the prospect of playing as a vampire should be convincing enough.

Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption is a role-playing game closely based upon the acclaimed pen-and-paper RPG system Vampire: The Masquerade. It tells the story of a French crusader, Christof Romuald, whose perilous quest will see him traveling across the world in both the Dark Ages and modern times. You can choose between a path of good or evil and the choices you make throughout the game will determine which of the many endings will come to fruition. Last but not least it offers a multiplayer narrative mode, which essentially allows you to play an RPG session on-line, with one of the players being the GM.

To make up for the lack of Tuesday release, we're releasing today Dark Fall 2. DF: Lights Out is a fine title for anyone who enjoys first-person perspective point-and click games... With a touch of suspense.

Dark Fall 2: Lights Out, also known simply as Dark Fall II or just Lights Out, is a point-and click horror-adventure game. Much like the older titles from the Myst series, you control the game by clicking specific areas of the pre-rendered scenery. You take the role of Benjamin Parker, a cartographer hired to map the dangerous shores of a small English town. Surprisingly, there already is a lighthouse on a small island near the town, so why would anyone want to hire a cartographer? It soon becomes apparent that something strange is happening within the lighthouse, so you set out to investigate, before its keepers or anyone else gets hurt...

Because you enjoy reading about old games almost as much as playing them, we're posting a spotlight on Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura by David Craddock.

In most fantasy worlds, swords, horse-drawn carriages, dragons and sorcerers don't often advance to firearms, automobiles, flying machines and scientists, regardless of how many millennia have passed since the world's inception. Not so in Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, the debut title from defunct developer Troika Games, a studio founded by Tim Cain, Jason Anderson and Leonard Boyarsky, key members of the original Fallout development team. An explosion of technological advancement on the eponymous continent Arcanum has brought about better, more efficient ways of living and working -- but not everyone believes the newfangled innovations to be for the best. read more...

With the announcement of Activision we couldn't help ourselves not to prepare an in-depth overview of the great games released on GOG.com. We're starting with Gabriel Knight retrospective by Pete Davison.

Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is placing players in the role of the titular Gabriel Knight, a wannabe author who runs a struggling bookstore in the French Quarter of New Orleans, a spate of grisly murders that locals believe to be voodoo-related leads our reluctant hero to investigate. Along the way, Gabriel discovers a number of horrifying truths about himself, about a woman named Malia Gedde, whom he quickly becomes infatuated with, and about the murders themselves. read more...

The biggest announcement in GOG.com's history went up, champagnes popped and finally the dust has settled. It's time to sum up things a bit.

Thanks to our hard work and to your help in spreading the word, the news about GOG.com and Activision was all over the internet. Among all those news and articles, there were also interviews with GOG staff. Here's a list, enjoy!

  • Rather Average -- VTM:R isn't a particularly bad game, but it doesn't stand out as particularly memorable either. The combination of medieval and contemporary settings is a novel idea, but the game takes a long time to get going leaving the medieval section mostly forgettable. Running into some of the characters from the medieval period again in the contemporary setting adds a nice twist. Also, despite... full review

Peak of its era -- This is definitely the peak of Sierra's adventure games. After this things went pretty much downhill, with odd video experiments and confused projects. The storyline is brilliant, and the voice acting is surprisingly good for its age.

The Closest Thing To A Fallout-Style Game Since..Well..Fallout -- Created by ex-Fallout devs, Arcanum is an RPG in the same vein as Fallout, in that it is a plot-and-quest-based, open-ended romp through a very interesting world which reacts and shapes itself to your actions.... full review
