Being the latest, but hopefully not the last, part of the Gabriel Knight saga. Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned fills many gaps left in the wake of its prequels and is a must-have for any fan of the series.

Gabriel Knight 3 is a 3D point-and click adventure game. While the classy 2D graphics, or the well-orchestrated FMV sequences of its predecessors may be missed, GK3 fared the transition from 2D to 3D very well. The primary upside is that the in-game environments are now more interactive and open to exploration, much like in the newer Tex Murphy games. The storyline is as deep and complex as ever, filled with dark secrets and unfathomable conspiracies. Four years after GK2, Gabriel Knight - the Schattenjäger - is pitted against a breed of evil he has never faced before, when an exiled prince asks him to protect his newborn son from what appear to be vampires...

Imagine a gripping, deep storyline, mixed with gameplay somewhere between Descent and Freespace, only much more challenging and underwater. Add to that then-revolutionary graphics and you've got AquaNox.

AquaNox is a submarine simulation/shooter game by Massive Development. Its plot is set in a high-tech, corrupt underwater world, in a time after the surface world's resources were depleted and humanity destroyed what was left in a devastating war. Mankind fled to the oceans, with sunlight and fresh air now just old concepts, all but forgotten. You are mercenary leader Emerald "Deadeye" Flint, a war hero down on his luck - broke, with his precious sub stolen and stuck with an old mining vessel "generously" given to him by his new employer to get him started. Right now you're set on reclaiming your ship, but the deeps like to keep surprises lurking in the dark.

It's been a while since we last treated you to a role-playing game. As a direct sequel to the famous Betrayal at Krondor, this title should require no recommendation.

Return to Krondor is a classic RPG, set in the fantasy world of Midkemia from Raymond Feist's Riftwar Saga. Compared to its prequel, it offers a more linear, but equally gripping storyline, improved graphics and a few innovative features, like its complex alchemy and lockpicking systems. The story puts you in the shoes of Squire James of Krondor, tasked with following a ruthless mercenary called Bear, who is searching for a powerful artifact, the Tear of the Gods. As you witness the destruction left in Bear's wake, and face dark, horrible beings of unknown origin, it becomes clear that you've gotten yourself into a larger quest than you bargained for.

While not a direct sequel, Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh has a lot in common with the original. It had the misfortune of enduring very critical reviews, but we encourage you to give it a chance and judge it for what it is.

Phantasmagoria 2 is a horror-themed, FMV-based point-and-click adventure game. The game has got a ton of strong points, contrary to what the "experts" may believe. The story gets you hooked very quickly and contains scenes which are taboo in pretty much every other game, sex included. The puzzles range from intuitive to almost impossible, so a walkthrough might prove useful, but feel free to experiment. Unlike in many other adventure games, there are many FMV sequences for failed attempts (like opening a door with a screwdriver), rather than a plain "Sorry, Dave" by the main character. So, although you may have been discouraged from playing this game, why not give it a shot and decide by yourself whether it's good or not?

A sci fi approach to Civilization -- TLDR; A variation on the civilization games allowing the player to explore future technology such as mechs and aquatic cities. Nothing fundamentally new but offers a new twist on the basic civilization game.... full review

Call to Power is where Civ Should have headed -- The Call to Power series is, basically a clone of the Sid Meier’s Civilization Series, it was even designed by Sid and the first itineration bore the Civilization title. However due to licensing that was stripped away as was any reference to Sid in the second installment.
Call to Power shows some vast improvements over the CIV system that CIV 5 would be wise to implement:

least awesome of the three, but still awesome -- It simply didn't have the engine to get away with what it tried so ambitiously to do, and the Grace half is way more interesting than the Gabriel half, but it still has an incredibly unique camera, Tim Curry's awesome voice work, and overall a very, very interesting story and a unique interface. If you love GK1 and 2, it's obviously worth your time.
