Minya: I can't remember when I bought the game, but I still haven't finished Myst 4, Revelation. As I began playing the Myst-series at the time of release of the first game, I kept an eye out for all the following games, like Riven, Myst 3 Exile and so on.
I think I got Myst 4 and 5 about six years ago, couldn't figure out one of the last puzzles so I never finished. Myst 5, however, was either flawed or my computer was an idiot. Still haven't been able to install it to play :p
myst 5 had a problem with the install on xp after sp2, I think from memory it would install on vista but wouldn't start so I copied the folder over from xp & then it started.

Tried to install it on Win7 too, no luck. So at the time being, I guess I'll wait.

Fired up UAKM last night for the first time in a number of years (have only finished it once, some time ago) - going to go for broke and finish it again.

pahootaman: Welp, that's another item to cross out on my bucket list. I received UAKM for Christmas back in 1994 and never finished it (heck, I don't think I even made it to day two). I picked it up again recently and finally plowed through it to the ending.

rjspring: I had the same issue, went back years after getting stuck and finally finished it (with cheats) - was very happy to finally get through it.

UAKM forever!
Well, I'm glad to be joining your little group : I too just finished UAKM after 15 years and it feels so good ! :-)

Now, I'm pondering about playing "the Pandora Directive" or "Blade Runner" (which I've just been recalled of from another thread) ! Cornelian choice...

EDIT :

liberatorx1: I still have an original version of Shadow of the Comet. Bought it when released so that would be 1993. I couldn't get anywhere in that game for the life of me and wasn't about to pay for the premium rate phone call to the hint lines available back then. Cant wait to see it turn up on GOG so i can finally master the beast. Guess that makes it 18 years i've been waiting to complete it. I'll finally do it, then i'll drop down dead.
Aaah !!! "Shadow of the Comet" !!! Now, that was a f***ing good game, along with "Prisoner of Ice" !!! Cthulhu Fhtagn !!!

I just finished UaKM last night/this morning (2am) after a 16 year gap as well (I played it in one sitting). My longest gap would probably be SMB3 which I beat for the first time a couple of months ago, so that would be 21 years of giving up after the first couple of worlds.

Will add another game to this list of my longwinded accomplishments; Lighthouse-The Dark Being.
Started playing it back in 1996 when it came out, and never got past a safe which is quite difficult to open. Long story short; when I wanted to play it again later on, my computer was just too good for it to be able to run it. (the game required Win95/ Win 3.1/MS-DOS, 16mbRAM, and such) Since it was able to play in MS-DOS, I figured Dosbox might do the trick, when I got the urge to play it again a few days ago. After fiddling a lot with sound and graphics, I finally made it playable, although it is a bit scratchy in the sound some places.
Still haven't finished, but I'm getting closer each day now :D
This would be close to 16 years in the finishing :p

I'm another guy that first played UAKM many years ago, but only managed to finish it yesterday. What a great game!

I was about 15 years old when I first played this. Not only I didn't actually own the game, so I had to play at my friend's house, but also I guess I wasn't smart enough at that time to go very far. But the game really impressed me, and it was really a pleasure to finally play it from start to finish. What a great game!
