Even better would be the audio CD version of the soundtrack. Maybe a downloadable image, or at least the tracks in lossless format like FLAC. But that's probably too much to hope for. :-)

So I assume the gog soundtrack is the same as the official 6-track download from Monolith's site back in the day? 128kbps and all? And is there any music in the game that isn't included with the mp3s?

Does the GOG.com version of the game play the soundtrack mp3's for the game's music? The retail release of the game is a mixed-mode CD, and the music tracks on the CD are the game's music. What is the music for the GOG.com version of the game?

sadly, the versions hosted on the gog website are in fact from the cd version; the cds were only produced in limited quantities (if at all, i've never seen any evidence they actually were).
the tracks in the gog soundtrack have the same compression artifacts as the tracks i have, which i pulled off the monolith FTP 9 or 10 years ago. as far as i know, these are the only versions of the tracks that exist outside the game. they're a little different from what you'll hear in game but they get the job done and all the major themes are represented, good music.

I actually have a set of the 6 tracks which dont have the ugly clicks and pops. Its kinda shameful that even gog's set have those. I wonder if a gog representative would like to get the set I have and redistribute it on the site?

What I wanna know is are the soundtrack songs high quality or the regular 128kbps mp3 you could download from the official site and the shogo-mad.com fansite.

i know i'm getting back to you a year later but would you be willing to send those to me? it would be great to have uncorrupted tracks. if you see this and reply i'll whip up an email account.

I have the audio CD that was sold, and it has all 6 tracks. I've ripped these to mp3 on my PC, but could create an ISO image of it if others would like it.

i see pentacle delivered! awesome. it may only be a few of us who care anymore but i think it's awesome that after all these years, the music is out there at the quality level it deserves. never thought it would happen back in the day.
