The editorials are great. It's cool to hear from the people who made the games, as they look back on them from several years later.

Yeah, fantastic that you do those features, but "Essentially, Sacrifice was a 3D real-time strategy game before 3D real-time strategy games existed." is not correct, as has been noted.
Battlezone, Dungeon Keeper and Myth were out in 97, Myth II, Warhammer: Dark Omen and Wargasm in 98, Machines, Populous 3, Homeworld, Warzone 2100 and Shadow Company in 99. Surely there are more, as well.
Sacrifice was out in 2000.

It's nice to see how likeminded people there exist here on gog. I was just peeking at the editorial and saw the line about Sacrifice being the first etc. and thought "wasn't BattleZone out before this?". Then I thought U should mention it in the comments but I should've guessed that if I can notice something like that, surely the fanbase of gog will too. And I didn't even remember Uprising before someone mentioned it!
Though I have to say about some of those games I've quoted that they are not exactly comparable in this area to Sacrifice. Namely Myth, Warhamme: Dark Omen, Homeworld, Warzone 2100, Ground Control and Shadow Company (?) because they did not have a first person mode of any kind which would've put the player in the battle. They are strategy games but I would not call them "first person real time strategy games", per se.
Now that I got that off my chest, thanks for these great interviews gog and for such a great community! =)

I noticed people mentioned that Sacrifice was NOT all those great 'first of its kind, 3D first person RTS' things etc.. WELL: To this day I don't even know what game ever has done what Sacrifice did way back then! Myth? Myth is the "now traditional" top-down squad based kind of RTS. Dungeon Keeper? I LOVED that game, don't get me wrong, but that also was a top down "traditional" RTS. Sacrifice was just Earth shattering in its uniqueness when it came out, not to mention it's spectacular graphics which have aged Very well BTW, it Still looks great 10 years later! I have to say - after playing So many great games over the last 30+ years (since Pong!), Sacrifice probably rates as my overall favorite game of all time. Fun games come all the time, but so rarely do I find that great fun ALSO in a Beautiful package with So Much new innovation that I catch myself saying "wow" continuously even after playing multitudes of games. (did we mention replayability..?!)
