I brought the Arkania games a few weeks ago in the promo and have spend some time reading the manual. I don't get much time for gaming maybe 30mins to an hour a day so this week I've been putting together my party. Many re rolls later I have my band of six merry adventures ready to go. I'm off to the inlaws tonight for Christmas so won't be able to play until next week. Fingers crossed all this preperation as been worth it......

Curious minds would like to know...

I've not had much of a chance to play it yet work went mental during the snow and I'm only just recovering. I've had a bit of a look around the first dungeon and tried to get to grips with the combat (which i'm finding difficult to see properly).
Only time will tell.

What about now? :p Seriously though, is this a good game? Not sure whether to try it or not.

It's an interesting old-school rpg.
The rules are not the easiest to learn, the games can be pretty difficult and the interface takes a bit to get used to, but they are overall fun to play and that's what matters.
If you don't want to buy all three, you could always read this Let's Play of ROA3 that I found out recently: it got me interested in the games enough to buy them and I'm not regretting doing so.

Cheers, I'll have to give that link a good read through. My biggest concern is whether I have been too spoiled by modern RPGs to give it a chance, as I found when I tried to play some of the old Interplay D&D games, but it does look interesting. Might try the third one at least.
EDIT: Just realised I might have got that Interplay comment mixed up, I don't mean the Baldur's Gate games but rather the older ones like Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Hack. It's Baldur's Gate that ruined me. :D

So, what did time tell you?

That I lost patience tbh, I dip my toe back in every now and then but it's a bit tough for me. I may give it another go at some point though now that the long winter nights are beginning to draw in.
