so, inspired by GOG I got the Neverhood off ebay a couple days ago after seeing it on the Wishlist... I remembered playing a demo of it when I was ikkle about 4-6 (from one of the ubiquitous discs full of demos that came with anything computer related, i think my dad was subscribed to some pc magazine) but never the full one

I'm playing through it happily but got stuck on some parts, I found a nice guide and a writeup of the game's surreal backstory :)

enjoying it so far, i definitely remember the floating room in space and the flytrap-like creature!

anyway, the walkthrough I found has some nice screenshots too and give you an idea of how pretty and cute the game is:

(more here if interested, but best not to look if you are interested in playing the game cos it will ruin the story for you)

Apparently the leader of the development team that made it made earthworm jim too, so maybe it will end up on GOG! :)
I found an official unofficial site that has a mirror of the old website for the game:
neverhood.se - and it has a "where the development team are now" page

I have Skullmonkeys and then found out that it was a sequel to The Neverhood. I haven't played The Neverhood yet, so i'm really hoping the GOG team will throw it on here at some point.

The Neverhood - The Making Of, Part 1

The Neverhood - The Making Of, Part 2

interesting!

I remember playing Neverhood when I was kid. It' full of funny moments. Like my favorite: you walk in to this location with big hole and signs reading "Don't jump into the drain" or "Danger". Of course I was dying to find out what would happen. So I jumped and next thing I know Klaymen is falling of the planet completely ignoring gravity... Here is video of the "hole" scene for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about. Enjoy. And definitely play this game if you can. It is worth it.

I really want this game...but on EBAY it is about £70!

However this game is now owned by EA Games....

man, this was the first game I played on a windows system. Having solved it then and again now, the best part of it for me was the soundtrack. Anyone who played the game probably remembers the "heeey operator ... doba-doba-doba-doo" song :) :) ;) ;)

anyhow, wanted to mention that you can buy the soundtrack separately, it's by Terry Taylor. I can't remember where I bought it, but that info should give you enough to go on to google it.

I just thought I'd say I completed the game and it really is wonderful I really hope it gets added so other people can enjoy it easier

I remember the Neverhood demo, it was so cool. But I never found the game in any store.

edit... just looked on ebay... WOW I can't believe the price on this game! is it that good?

I've been wanting to get Neverhood for a while, but as you guys say, the eBay prices are high. That's what happens when people don't buy good games. A lesson to us all.

I still have my old Neverhood cd. I didn't realize it was being sold for so much on Ebay o.O

the "where they now" page is completely outdated. monkeytropolis has a place holder currently.

Now you go and do more good! And look out for bad. Willie know: bad is always where you forget to look.

Willie was awesome. Hoborg was awesome (for the few minutes he actually was shown ingame, anyway). And Klayman... well, if you haven't yet, have him stand still for a while :)
