Navagon: Purely from a technical standpoint, I think that's your best yet. To carve so many small squares so perfectly cannot have been easy.

Congrats on the richly deserved Kotaku feature too! image
Actually it was preparing the image that was the most difficult (a lot of trial and error). To compensate for the curvature of the pumpkin the outline actually looked something like this:

That only makes it more of a technical achievement than I first thought. That is a thought though. You could use something like the pinch/punch Photoshop filter on the stencils before you print them out.

Cambrey: Yes, that one impressed me the most. image
Whenever cutting anything, clean corners are always what I find most difficult. In other words, I'd never undertake something like that as I know only too well what the results would be. :D

high rated
Though it was just suggested, this is the image I've been wanting to carve the most since I started.

Steps involved:
1) Create high contrast monochrome image
2) Tape image to pumpkin and begin needle tracing
3) Become overwhelmed with nostalgia and leave pumpkin to install game
4) Spend next two hours playing
5) ...eventually finish pumpkin

I am... speechless. That is just soooo beautiful!

That is pretty freakin sweet, another fine job.

Do you think a negative image would work with carving? That might give an interesting look, take a regular pumpkin and cut away everything that doesn't look like vault boy

Failing that, how about this as a challenge: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/5/9575398_740694c8d6_o.jpg

(hope you can hotlink to flickr)

That seems kind of ridiculous. You know what would be pretty cool, though? A Boy and HIs Blob. Not the older one, but the Wii-make, which is brilliant.

Whoa! You've even got the damage on the armour just right too. Amazing!

It's kind of disappointing how many people think the last one is Boba Fett. Yes there are very obvious similarities and Boba Fett is waaay more well known, but come on people!

Do you want to destroy my hand or something? What did it ever do to you?!

I would have preferred to use a larger pumpkin for this but apparently it has a been a bad season so I couldn't find any.
