Yesterday we've added the third installment of the Broken Sword series and today we have something for those of you who have problems finishing Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror.

If you started playing Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror and you're still in Professor Oubier's house, tied to a chair and you don't know how to escape form the poisonous spider, then we have something for you. Based on the text prepared by Malcolm Schmidt, we have produced another high-quality PDF game guide that includes a walkthrough and some easter eggs prepared by the folks from the Revolution Software. If you already bought Broken Sword 2 at GOG.com, you can download the game guide at the “My Account” page. Check out sample images from the guide here.

This can be useful for alot of people, thanks GOG.com.

I vowed myself not to use any kind of a guide for Broken Sword 2 though. I'm kinda regretting my promise since I've been stuck with the warthog for couple of days now...

I haven't checked the guide yet, but I've been using the Universal Hint System website to help me along.

Nicely produced guide there guys.

BS2 is on the easier side of this genre, but understandably some will get to the point where help is wanted.

I may have to replay just to see the easter eggs.

thanks to mr. schmidt for this beautiful guide. i read it now after completing the broken sword 2 for the first time (a charming game) and it would have certainly helped, especially on zombie island where I did everything right but just couldn't find the right "exit" area to advance the game for almost an hour. i was desperate that I did a puzzle wrong or found a bug. well, after leaving the game be for 1 day I reloaded the sequence and then finally found how I could get down to zombie beach ( I know, in retrospect it sounds stupid that I didn't find it after having no troubles with the puzzles before )

Still no official comments on BS1? It just seems... really weird actually, to release 2 and 3, and never say a word about the first installment.

Ubisoft announced a few weeks ago BS1 for the Wii and the DS. I guess, the deal included the complete licensing of everything BS1-related to Ubisoft or some kind of timed exclusive for Ubisoft, so that no other BS1-release would interfere their release schedule.

Or it could simply mean that they're still negotiating. If they commented on it during that, it would raise expectations and put more pressure on them to accept any terms.

But all this is just more speculation. "We can't comment on that" is a perfectly valid official statement. So is "We don't know at this time".

" ", however, is not a perfectly valid official statement. It's just really really weird. To quote George Carlin, "it's like the elephant on the couch that nobody mentions".

Of course. Without a statement, all we can do is speculate.

Always useful to have on-hand.

Thanks guys.

Which is kind of why I'm asking for a statement ;-)

As I said, I understand if they can't give out any information, I'd just like an acknowledgement from GOG that there is an issue here.

Okay then... we can't comment on Broken Sword 1. As noted, the remake is coming, so if we can ever get our hands on the original we will... but for now we don't have it.

Thank you. Oh, look! There's an elephant on the couch! :-D

Seriously, thank you GOG. It doesn't take much to keep the faith of the customers, but precious few do it anyway. You are different. You deserve every bit of success you can get :-)
