I installed Fallout 1 on Vista and my mouse feels very sluggish, especially when doing small movements with it, it gets less sluggish on bigger movements. Does anyone else have this and are there any known solutions for this?
Thanks in advance,
ainmosni

The resolution patch can fix it pretty easy.

I downloaded and installed the resolution patch and it made it much, much worse.

You're going to need to post some details if you need assistance.
OS,
Video Card, etc..

Try renaming your "ddraw.dll" in your Fallout folder to something else.

I had to do this with the res patch, and my mouse worked perfectly in standard res.

Sorry if I was being vague, I fixed the problem by rolling back to an older version of the resolution patch. It seems the September build had some issues with the new movie support on certain hardware.
I'll just wait for another build and try again, but it works fine now.

Where do you get an older version of the resolution patch?

As was already asked, does anyone know of the version or a link to the resolution patch that fixes this mouse issue under windows vista?
Resolution Patch v1.9 doesn't fix this issue for me, nor does any of the versions of sfall I was able to find.

I seem to have found a possible solution for the sluggish mouse under Vista.
I had the same issue when I tried to play 'Freedom Force' - sluggish controls under Vista, and I found a forum post on the Freedom Force boards saying if you are using a Logitech mouse to disable the "Use OS native drivers for pointer speed and acceleration" in the Logitech mouse options.
It fixed my Freedom Force issue mouse lag issues, and now trying Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics again the mouse lag is gone.
It's worth trying if you are suffering from this issue.
