Where do I start ?
It would probably be easier to list what -wasn't- crappy about this game.
Nothing intuitive, no world map (and this REALLY needs one), no ingame listing for keyboard controls/commands nor is there a way to remap them, the mission objectives are nebulous ... at best.
This game is really not worth the $5.99 I paid and it makes me glad I didn't buy it when it first came out.
Avoid this one and get something else.

Couple of corrections to ShadowGyphons complaints about Evolva.
Keyboard controls can be remapped via the options menu, bottom right corner, "configure controls". Mission objectives can be vague but that's what the objective arrow/marker in the mini window of the currently selected genohunter is for, follow it, occasionally give it a moment to catch up to your current location.
Sadly your money can still be better spent on other games.

I know it might sound bad if right now a stuff member will say that he/she likes Evolva... but I do. :) It's nice to have that that twist of gaining enhancements to your soldiers and grinding your enemies into shreds. Though that jumpy mission is a little strange. ;)

I like the game also (still have the original disc)

I bought this game a little after it came out in the bargain bin, I couldn't have paid more than a few bucks then, it's very forgettable. I like what they did, but the whole "evolving" mechanic in games works best when it's not so ... literal. I like my fallout character "evolving" better lockpicking or "evolving" more accuracy with handguns. Spore ... yeah.

I have liked Evolva too - only problem was its short length and the system of upgrades would really need some improvement - less would be better here (since especially the later ones are not as useful). But nice experience and worth the money (bought box version last year).

I like this game too. Far played it about 5-6 years age whent it was added on cover cd for magazine. It took great impression on me.

Bought it, downloading it now. I don't actually care how good it is, I just want to finally run it. I bought it for a few bucks at Oddlots years ago, but to say that my old PC was horrible is an understatement. This game, like the rest, froze up... so to see it run now is worth the price of admission.

this game was great, it has flaws but it was tons of fun and an original concept

I must say that I disagree with some people who've expressed a dislike of the mutation mechanic the game employs. I personally prefer that Evolva uses its straightforward mutation system, opposed to the 'subtle' touches of a role playing game such as Fallout.
The entire premise of the game is built on this, and if you're going to be aggrivated by the straightforward nature, I think you have misinterpretted the entire description of the game.
That said, I actually enjoy Evolva quite alot myself. I find it's appearance to be stylish and clear and the environment, while perhaps sparse, is still a delight to explore.

ShadowGryphon: ... no world map (and this REALLY needs one)..

Oh dear,
but who needs a map, if he has a navigator device like a PNA (that arrow right on top of the screen)? It shows you NOT where the next object is, but WHICH WAY you need to take to get there ... I think it's absolutely enough to reach the different targets.
btw: I would describe the game as "Gummibärchen auf LSD" ... "gummi bears" or "jellybabies" on LSD ;)

Here's another one
