I am trying to get the full features of the game to work.

I cannot play dockingstation because it asks me for a user/pass yet it seems the server is down so i can't create one either.

How cna I fix this?

I also downloaded the latest update which did not install properly. To fix this I downloaded a registry fix in the posts above which allowed me to install the update. But now I find that when I start creatures 3 it is askins me to insert the CD!

Can anyone pelase help? I just want to play a c3/ds world with all fixes and updates installed.

I just checked here: http://www.gamewaredevelopment.co.uk/ds/active/register.pl and it seems to be up. Since Creature Labs is all but shut down there is not a lot else you can do on the site, but I was able to register for DS just a couple weeks ago, and know others have done it since.

I never try to play C3 alone--I always launch DS and have my world linked to both the DS and C3--I find it works better that way. Try that once you get your DS ID working.

And if you still can't register, I'll try and see what I can find to make that happen.

Hey

I finally managed to do it. I thought the server had been closed for good but obviously not. I managed to register and start a game. I've also managed to install the update as well as some fixes and CFE Norn geonomes.

Are there any great sites for information about running a wolfing run? And also where can i download tools like the genetics kit?

Lastly, i can't find treehugger norns and i'm missing toxic and some tohers. Are they available somewhere?

Matt

PS*

Really happy to be palying C3/DS again. It was a big part of my childhood and still the best AI game by far.

You can find the C3/DS Genetics kit on this page of the Creatures Development Network.

Unfortunately, not all of the Norn breeds are available for C3/DS. The game originally came with the Bruin, Bengal, Civet, and ChiChi Norns. The Magma, Zebra, Fallow, Siamese, Astro, and Harlequin Norns all used to be up for purchase at the Gameware Mall, but have since been released as free downloads. All of these Norns are automatically included in the GOG version of C3/DS.

However, the Bondi, Treehugger, Toxic, and Hardman Norns were never released free to the public. And since the Gameware Mall is now down, there is no way to legally acquire these breeds. There is a petition on this forum somewhere to try and get GOG to acquire these breeds and offer them for download, but right now, they are unavailable.

Stab594: For Creatures 2 users, this is important to know about:

http://creatures.wikia.com/wiki/OHSS

The Solution to it is to download either the Canny Norns or Nova Subterra.
On the Wiki page for C2, they say "Cyberlife was subsequently accused of gouging customers when they released a Life Kit with an improved genome (as well as other features) but neglected to release this as a patch to the original game until several weeks had passed.".

So has the OHSS been fixed in a patch that's already in the GOG edition or do we really absolutely NEED the Canny Norns to eliminate this problem?

How do I put the Canny norns into the game from GOG? I downloaded the "canny2" file and it's a "compressed folder" but how do I get it into the game? Is it even possible?
