Is it possible to make the game not stretch horizontally by forcing a 4:3 aspect ratio (which would mean there would be black borders on the left and right)?
Been looking for an answer but without luck so far.

The stretchiness of the image irks me ;_____;

edit: also, is it possible to turn of the vertical sensitivity of the camera controls? Moving the camera up and down is noticeably slower compared to horizontal movement. I guess it's a console port thing.

Thanks in advance!

First use the "Beyond Good and Evil Settings" program to set the game to run in a 4:3 resolution.

Next, your graphics card should have an option to maintain aspect ratio. e.g. for ATI using latest CCC it's under "My Digital Flat Panels" -> "Properties" -> "Image Scaling" -> "Maintain aspect ratio"
Nvidia should have a similar option somewhere.

If you'd also like to get rid of the letterboxing (black borders on the top and bottom), so the screen doesn't have a complete border around all four sides, this registry patch should do the trick.

Thanks for the help. Game runs just as I wanted now :D

4:3 is any resolution where the ratio of width to height is 4:3.
640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 960, and 1400 x 1050 are all 4:3 resolutions supported by BG&E. There's also this tool which can tell what aspect ratio any given resolution is (put width in X1, height in Y1).
