Does this version of the game have proper gamepad support? I hear it doesn't. If that's the case, I'll probably end up buying the HD version on XBLA instead.
I was wondering the same. I have to say I am rather annoyed at having bought the game now that I notice there doesn't appear to be any kind of controller support.
1999 games had controller support; this is plainly ridiculous.
You could always look into Pinnacle Game Profiler, with a bit of tweaking the game works flawlessly with my logitech controller. Haven't had a chance to look how it performs in other games, but judging by how well it works in Beyond Good & Evil I'd say it's worth giving the trial a try!
I've been using the JoyToKey config file posted by adz here, http://www.gog.com/en/forum/beyond_good_and_evil/controller_support/post18 It's been pretty playable; the only issue is that movement has to be simulated with WASD, which can't be made analog. The difference isn't too offensive while in-game, though. The most important part is that the mouse movement is properly tied to the right analog stick. I previously tried an Xpadder profile, but that apparently only supports moving the mouse at a constant speed (which makes aiming the camera terribly awkward).
Thanks! This is really convenient to have. I did some small tweaks to suit my own preferences, but for the most this works great for me. It's a lot nicer than having to start from scratch.
